I think this is great!! probalbly not the best however

Banks`s save was phenomenal, as pointed out, on the greatest stage against the worlds best, the ground he had to cover, having a split second to read the bounce of the ball and make the save, Banks was an incredible keeper, it has to be said.

Whether or not its THE best save, i dont know, but it was a hell of a good stop.
What i noticed more from the clip was the outrageous pass down the line from the back for the Brazilian winger to run on to! Outside of the foot spun pefectly around the fullback right into the wingers stride. Fucking awesome.

it was some pass-brilliantly spun, perfectly weighted..the way the winger then sidestepped the defender was top class too..making an international defender look like a donkey..similar to todays match v scotland..nothing changes with brazil..41 years on.

I think after all these Years I will stick with Gordon Banks save from Pele. That diving header that Cupar did for Lyon against Barca was stunning though. Also; it's a long time since I have seen Jim Montgomery's save in the Cup Final and Seaman's save against Sheffield utd I had actually forgotten to my shame.

Gordon Banks is without doubt the best goalkeeper I have ever seen, and I have seen a few good 'uns in my time.

April fools day at Maine Rd 1972, when he kept City at bay is a day I will never forget.

He is rightfully regarded as one of the best keepers the world has ever seen, and his reputation is well deserved.

It's not just 'that save', as he made saves like that all the time, game after game.
