Gordon Taylor set to keep PFA chief executive role
Gordon Taylor will keep his position as chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association following claims that he bet £4m in 30 months.

The Sun reported that Taylor made 2,000 bets, including wagers on football.

The PFA is set to release a statement on Thursday, confirming that Taylor's job is secure.

The players' union's management committee believe it is a personal matter and did not raise potential conflicts of interest with his role.

Former Bolton, Birmingham, Blackburn and Bury player Taylor, 68, joined the PFA management committee in 1972.

He was appointed as chief executive in 1981.

How the fuck can he be in a position to support players who are already facing lengthy bans for the same thing, betting on football results.
Sorry but it stinks.

I don't really like the man but I don't think he should be sacked for it.
He warns players about gambling which he knows a lot about.
Gambled 4 mill but doesn't say he lost 4 mill.
Looks like he lost at least 100k which he can easily afford.
Nowt to do with me so ...... let him get on with it.

-- Thu Aug 29, 2013 11:53 am --

He cannot influence a match. Players can.

Are you saying he or A.N.Other can`t approach a player,especially a goalie ?

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! He's on a reportedly £1m salary and is the highest paid union official in the UK.
He is also blathering, rambling, piss head who has his own head stuffed firmly up his own arse.
Time for him to go.
