Gotze, Reus & Bale.

He's worth it without doubt. Chelsea bought Hazard and PSG bought Lucas for fees in this vicinity and both have added plenty to those sides as Gotze would to us. The obstacle would be convincing Gotze, I think Reus could be convinced as he's spoken in the past and has been open to playing abroad but Gotze is more Dortmund's blue-eyed poster boy who probably has a deeper attachment to the club (Reus left before going back remember).
i agree and i dont think people realize that we're now going to have a world class person in the transfer market(bergistran) that we've never had before. the club and his ambitions are clearly there and people need to get ready for 'shock & awe' this summer. everything we've been told thus far is that theres gonna be some going out and quite a few coming in. july 1st get fucking ready

as far as gotze is concerned, honigstein is reliable as usual and im sure txiki is just seeing whats out there and how the player would feel about a move. hes already one of the best attacking midfielders out there and is on pace to be as good if not better than his german counterpart ozil

The only problem would be that I still think we need a quicker attacking midfielder/winger as Gotze is very similar to Silva.

-------Aguero
Silva--Gotze--Di Maria

perhaps?

I doubt his clause would be that low? Goetze is a fucking gem for Dortmund.

Sorry how much do you think this guy is worth. Top strikers on the planet are pulling 40 mill. Tell me who the last midfielder at young 20s who sold for 40 mill was

I didn't say he was worth more than that. The clause seems like the actual price you'd pay for Goetze, which makes me wonder why it wouldn't be higher.

I too am excited for the summer. But I sometimes wonder if some of us have too high expectations for him? You really think he will have a big impact on our ability to sign players and sign the right ones, still not very familiar with this Txiki.

like Silva, pretty but how many chances did he miss in those 2 games? 4,000?

He's scored 14 goals for Dortmund + 4 goals for Germany this season on top of 12 assists, not too shabby for a 20-year-old attacking midfielder. There isn't a better young attacking midfielder on the planet IMO.

Dortmund are taken out of the equation if his release clause is triggered, it's all down to his personal wishes. Maybe he will wait for Barca or Real, maybe he will opt to stay, but at least we're showing ambition for the right kind of player.

Just reading the Kicker article, interestingly his advisors refused to answer questions from Kicker about City (and Arsenal) interest. Txiki apparently met his agent during the Dortmund vs. Shakhtar game: <a class="postlink" href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kicker.de%2Fnews%2Ffussball%2Fbundesliga%2Fstartseite%2F584537%2Fartikel_arsenal-und-mancity-jagen-goetze.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... oetze.html</a>

@JanAageFjortoft: Wow @honigstein:tomorrow's Kicker: Man City's Begiristain met with Götze's agent last month with a view to activating a €40m releaseClause.

That's the word on the street...

Yaya spoke well of him in the interview, he definately has credibility and good relationships with the really top agents.

Now this would make a statement! He is top shelf.

Lewandowski is definately leaving at the end of the season many reporters are saying and Barcelona will no doubt go in for a defender, I think Hummels will be their first choice.

Unless Gotze actually wants to leave and we pay the buy out fee, does anybody think Dortmund will actually sell all three in the Summer?

Who is to say other players might get sold? They must have huge faith in their academy or they are going to go out and buy what they believe to be worthy replacements.

Dortmund are a better team than us currently and play in probably the most atmospheric stadium in Europe, so it will be interesting to see if he does actually join us.
