to get back on topic, I think most people will treat this the way they do tips in a restaurant etc. Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't. Personally I would prefer this to all the tin rattling
My Uncle worked and paid his taxes until the day he died (aged 83) and the MacMillan nurses were excellent. Never paid anything to charities as he didn't believe in it. Are they solely reliant on charity then?
No but it does no harm if one wants to donate to be given a simple and quick way to. My father currently has their help, I feel strongly about this charity and the more it receives the better, IMHO.
Though charity is up to the individual. But this is about choice.
