Shocking news only 57, he was only on a few weeks ago I can only think he had forgone treatment if he was diagnosed last year and kept working, very very sad. Ex RAF Per Ardua Ad Astra Tony.

Such sad news to hear. Spoke to him in Asda, Bury once years ago. He never mithered that me Mum stopped him whilst doing his shopping. A genuinely nice chap.

Often saw Tony in town, always with a smile on his face and time for people...

just watching his tribute on Granada reports now, he insisted on carrying on with what he loved, reporting the news right until the end

Wherever we end up, if anywhere, it’s a travesty that the good ones always go too soon.... RIP big man!
