RIP Tony, seemed like a top bloke.
Just watched Granada Reports. Superb tribute and very emotional. Lucy Meacock did well to hold it together until just before the end.

Just got home from work and seen this thread..

I feel absolutely gutted, Tony was a very likeable man who always came across well and always had a smile on his face..

Met him briefly once whilst out shopping and said hello..

One of lifes good guys who sadly has passed long before his time..!

Haven't watched 'Granada news' for years but Tony always lit up the box and did seem a very likeable chap.

I remember when he first joined Granada Reports. He seemed a smug git and I couldn't take to him. Yet the more you watched him I thought he had a wicked sense of humour and he was one of those guys who I would have loved to have a bevy with. Rest in Peace Tony you won me over and only Lucy has done that.
