thier cowboys, i have heard bad things about this company mate!

what company kws kitchens?

KWS in Chadderton were the first kitchen company I went to get a quote from. They didn't turn up or return my phone call so they potentially lost out on an order which in the end was for £11,000. Their loss!

yes

I would just get granite looking laminated ones from a company like duropal, save £2K a kitchen.

If you want tour kitchen to be an ornament. What they call granite is molded anyway, they don't get a 'stone artist' in. I suppose they are not as bad as beech butchers block or other wood to look after though.

iv got wooden work tops.theyre in virtually the the same as when i put them in (2.5 yrs ago). will give them a sand down and another couple of coats of stain this year to get the colour back up.

if you are selling your house, granite work tops would def add value imo. ateotd its all a matter of taste though i suppose. there are some really horriblecoloured granites out there.

Seen a lot of wooden ones that have got too dry and concaved or too damp and convexed. Most people do not look after them properly.

Kitchen tastes and habits are strange, some people were happy to change every two years spending £6-10K on chipboard and appliances, whilst others would buy a house with a newish kitchen in a non offensive style, like a solid wood maple shaker, and the first thing they would do is rip it out. People can't afford to do this anymore, can't get the credit the sales industry relied on, and as new builds have stopped the kitchen industry is on its knees.

Good time to get a bargin though.

made my own kitchen as you can see its not finished yes long project shops wanted to much moneyto fit the kitchen granite cost me £5500
and i wouldnt us the company again aftersales was crap

my next door neighbour has a franchise with a well known middle of the road, kitchen manufacturer. he actually says that his orders are up this year on last year (?). he thinks its down to people doing their houses up instead of selling them and moving to a different property. his kitchens are average £15-£20,000

firms like moores must be on their knees though.

funnily enough with my worktops, i cant really say ive 'looked' after them. just avoided putting cif/bleach on them etc! but yeah, what you say about peoples tastes in kitchens is right. i live on a new build estate and the first thing most people did when they move in is replace the kitchen. like i said i put new tops on, also did new tiled splashbacks, chrome sockets and new doors, oh and new travertine tiles.

yes tastes and habits are very strange!
