A number of years ago a friend from Ghana tried to get me to front a company importing granite for grave stones, apparently at the time most of it was coming from India. Don't know if this is the same with kitchens.

I got Absolute Black granite worktops which cost £3000 and I have staining from water ingress from cups of tea etc. I did not think that water staining would be an issue as the product was being used in a kitchen. There are temporary remedies such as polishing in dyes which I'm happy to do but to get them to come out again has been difficult. I'm also going to tone down the lighting under the high level cupboards but I also got some good advice from EB and Steeviedblue who replied earlier.
Liking yours toby, nice oven. We've got the same clock in our kitchen. £30 from TK Maxx, I think it's the best bargain in that room and keeps really good time!
