Could remove front row seats and sink dry moats around all pitches, but that would be a rather drastic solution to what seemed to be a weird weekend, and it would be something that would spoil the intimacy that makes football grounds unique. Alas, players have been and will be targeted by such loons far from grounds as well, so it's something that cannot be entirely prevented.
Would be interested to see the results of the toxicology reports, assuming they were done, from the three arrests (Edinburgh, Birmingham, London), and see if there are similarities. Then again, it could simply be copycat behaviour.
