It would be fantastic to see him turn it all around and play in a City shirt
The signs are Pep wants us to play quicker in the final third with the new players and Jack is too slow. I don’t see how he fits in our team anymore. Besides, he’s way down the pecking order.

Something is not right with Jack and Pep, and there is only going to be one winner. Pep says the right things about his players and never digs out a player in interviews, but when you're not playing or not even getting picked for the FIFA World Club Cup, it's clear you're done.

City has 2 options now, one is to loan him out or sell him for cheap and get him off the books
It's Sad Really, because Jack can be an ideal player for Pep with his strength on the ball and is hard to knock him off the ball, In the treble season, he was outstanding and the key player for me in anything we won
He dug out Jack, I distinctly remember him saying on tv that he wanted "the treble Jack" back.
That said it all to me. It's a huge statement to make about a senior player, it's a huge criticism.

I completely understand where Pep was coming from because even though he was played left wing during the treble season he was moving in and out towards the penalty area, tracking back working very hard. In The following season his work dropped off a cliff and he was less mobile and just kept recycling the ball to Gvardiol or Rodri.
It's like he stopped working hard and stayed out wider.

Anyway the treble Jack didn't come back and he slowly dropped out of favour with Pep.

I don't think we should send him out on loan and pay most of his salary because what ever value Jack has will only diminish as he gets older and nearer to the end of this contract, we should endeavor to sell him for a small fee and get him off the wage bill.

I don't mind him staying and turn it over.
Mate, I would love to see this. But I think too much has happened behind the scenes and hes burned his bridges with pep. But it doesn’t look like there’s much interest in him so you never know.

I think there’s plenty of life in that dog but he has to knock the booze, and I think we’re confident its booze, on the head and get back on the straight and narrow. Easier said than done unfortunately.

We don't have to fill the HG (CT or AT) quota, it's a maximum, not a minimum. We'd just have a smaller squad but could take up the slack with youth players if needed.
So many people miss this point. We dont need to spend to fill a slot. The slot just remains empty. The amount of times I've read we signed Phillips to fill a spot - no we signed him because we thought he was good enough nothing to do with with filling a spot. Unfortunately he was nowhere near good enough!

We've been lucky enough recently to have players in those slots who were good enough to be in our team, it feels a struggle to get that quality now.

He’s done, but leaves a legend. He was part of it all for three magical seasons.

He’s not pushed on. It happens. Doesn’t mean he was anything other than an astute purchase.

Don’t give a flying fuck what we paid for him.
I would politely note that it is hard, if not impossible, to not care about the price of a purchase while still believing it to be an astute purchase.

Astute (adjective) means having or showing an ability to accurately assess situations or people and turn this to one’s advantage.

I’m not sure we have had a full 25 man squad for some time, as the youngsters don’t count towards that number.

How did we not turn Jack’s purchase to our advantage? We won the Treble with him at the heart of the team. In footballing terms, that’s about as advantageous as it gets. And so yes, it was an astute purchase. I’m struggling to see how anyone could sensibly argue against that, given the end result. A Treble is such a rare, precious and incredible achievement any player who was very much a part of that has to have been a worthwhile addition, and thereby astute.

Wow, you are full blown! :-)

Grealish was “at the heart” of the Treble win??? Really?! I think you might mean he had one decent season that coincided with the Treble win, and he played pretty well, scoring 5 goals and getting 7 assists.

In today’s world I guess that equates to £100M worth of “advantageous”?!

I’ll give you points for doubling down, but not enough points to save you (and him!) from getting relegated from the Astute Purchase League!!

;-)

He started all the big games that season, including both Finals. By what metric is that not at the heart of the Treble?

NEWSFLASH!

Most expensive British transfer plays in big games for big club! Fans claim he’s “the heart of the Treble!”

Oh yeah, I see it now! :-)
Silly me, what was I thinking!

Tell you what, rather than get personal, let’s ask “no agenda” Perplexity…

During Manchester City’s historic 2022-23 treble-winning season, Jack Grealish’s contributions were relatively limited compared to the team’s top performers.

While the club secured the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League titles, Grealish was not among the leading statistical contributors.

Key players driving City’s success included:

• Erling Haaland, who was the top scorer with a record-breaking goal tally across all competitions.

• Kevin De Bruyne, the creative midfield engine with numerous assists and key passes.

• Rodri, who scored the decisive goal in the Champions League final.

• Other regular starters such as Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva also had significant impact with goals and assists.

Grealish’s role was more peripheral, often used as a squad rotation player rather than a consistent starter.

His stats in terms of goals, assists, and minutes played were noticeably lower than these key figures. This was partly due to injuries and competition for places in a star-studded squad.

In summary, while Grealish was part of the treble-winning squad and contributed when called upon, his statistical output and influence were modest compared to the standout performers like Haaland, De Bruyne, and Rodri during Manchester City’s historic 2022-23 season.

But, you’ve got to give it to him, he certainly celebrated like he was “at the heart” of it all!

There were 11 hearts and some more important ones to give us teeble
But only Lionel Grealish gets all the praise as if others did nothing
Only gets all the praise from where? Are you actually suggesting that some City fans don’t praise Erling, Rodri or Kev for that Treble win? Who are you referring to, or are you just chatting shit?

I obviously view that squad and the significance of that win very differently to you.

Barcelona and Bayern are looking for a winger and yet Grealish isn’t on their wish list
It amazes me that we have a generational talent here for sale, a player who single handily won us the treble, a player who wins games for us by just being on the pitch and winning fouls, a player who was the heartbeat of the side over the past 3 seasons yet nobody seems to want him.

It’s almost as if football is a very small world and everybody knows he has not been living the life away from the pitch and professional clubs don’t want his type. Just look at Rooney (somebody who was way more talented that grealish) and see how much he declined at a similar age. If you don’t live the life it will catch up with you.

We should have fucked him off when he was sent him from training and left out of Fulham squad during the title run in. Pep has given Grealish so many chances yet some will still blame pep for his downfall!

It will be a loan with us covering most of his ridiculous wages. I still have no idea why pep was so desperate to sign him. It was clear he was never going to live the life and besides I never thought he was that good to begin with

Yes I have read enough here

No Grealish no treble people are in large number here
