The court heard fines could not be deducted from Holt's Personal Independence Payments, so his parents, who he lives with, agreed to pay them in full within 28 days.

Wonder what he’s on PIP for?
probably cos he was forced to have a season ticket for 12 years, poor lad.

Fair enough, but I’ve given my reasoning for that, which is that he started virtually all of the big games, and I’m struggling to see how that doesn’t make him as described and I’m yet to see a cogent argument why that does not from any quarter. I’m basing and bolstering my opinion based on the facts.

On the basis he wasn’t at the heart of that endeavour then by that token neither were Walker, Dias, Ake or Stones because they all played less minutes than Jack in the PL. And only two of them started both Finals. I guess that would simplify the song about the ‘best defence in Europe’, if none of them were at the heart of the Treble. it’s a strange metric to apply to such an incredible team achievement, especially as a supporter. It’s a bizarre state of affairs when Manchester City fans are trying to run down the achievements of a player whose minutes played in the PL would make the first XI in 2022/23, as well as starting both finals in a treble winning season. I’d say that was at the heart of the team.

I happen to think that such an achievement requires so many stars to align, with so many moving parts, in such intense and demanding circumstances that anyone who played a significant role deserves nothing but adulation, respect and our never ending gratitude as supporters. You plainly do not; it’s no biggie, we all have different perspectives on these things.
I guess I fall on the fact that “showing up” is the minimum, and the results of his work were less than they could, and probably should, have been.

Yes, the £100M has been an anchor that created expectations that have probably not been met, but even discounting the record setting price tag, I think it would take a brave man to suggest that the City version of Jack Grealish has been anything but a shadow of the Villa version.

Yes, he will retire with a ridiculous medal haul for being at City for the last few years, and has done things most players dream of. But, none of that suggests he has been anything close to being “at the heart” of the City Treble winning team, or any other City team for that matter.

I’m certain he’s a great bloke, but then so is the guy who fixes my car. Jack has not, and appears will never, lived up to his price tag or public profile, which is sad, because it feels like he could have been another Rodney Marsh (on his good days).

For the news today alone a new contract on 500k a week. I can't stop laughing. Priceless from Jack. Once a blue, always a blue.

I have given empirical reasons why I believe he was; you have provided nothing to reciprocate that and I therefore have to assume that you feel the same way about Stones, Walker, Ake and Dias.

Like I indicated previously, we obviously have different interpretations as to what being at the heart of things means and your bar is plainly higher.

Still better than Doku and Savio imho. Neither of them makes that tackle on Salah Jack made. Pep fell out of love with him for whatever reason and there’s no way back from that sadly.
If you’re picking up a complete one off like that you could say Jack doesn’t dribble past 3 and slot one in the bottom corner like Doku did in a game once.

Never said that did I? But that tackle aside yes I still think he’s better than both of those two now.
Not having he’s better than Doku and Pep clearly disagrees. Add to that Doku seems very committed to his profession and is only just 23 id have hazard a guess that in a year or 2 a 25 year old Doku is much better for us than a 31 year old Jack. If Doku doesn’t improve by then he’ll be gone too but Jack isn’t going to improve from now as he ages.

Great lad, genuine. Loves our club, no doubt about it.
Q/ Do we win the treble without him ?
It's impossible to know obviously, but it's possible we'd have won the treble more easily with two fifty million pound players in the squad rather than a single one hundred million pound player.

Let’s hope someone has another look at his claim!

Absolutely. Fit enough to go on the piss, attend football games and slap football players but unfit to work. He should have got community service the little scrote as aside from the banning order and fine, which his parents have paid, he's not suffered at all. He's got the face of a wrong un and I've no doubt this won't be the only time he appears in court for similar loutish behaviour. These are exactly the type of benefit claims they should be investigating.

‘can’t work and claims benefits’? Someone at the Benefit Office needs to re-open the file.
