Great ball from Elano to Jo who...

genuine question as I've not really kept a close eye on the Turkish league....

I noticed Elano wasnt in the squad for the Brazil v Ireland game recently, has he been dropped or was he injured?

Thanks

An in form Steven Ireland is better than Elano, as last year proved. If Ireland was the same as lsat year nobody would remember Elano besides THAT free kick and all of his penalties.

I liked Elano, doesn't bother me that we sold him. He went because he wanted to go.

Elano though talented was an extremly disruptive influence!

Says who?, the dogs bast*d via his media cronies is who, along with Dunne, Sturidge, Jo, Robbie. Michael Johnson, Richards, and Cassell.............all victims of smear stories in the media after falling foul of numpty one way or another.

How do you back up your argumant that he is 1 of the best creative midfielders

Me and the Brazilian manager, along with Roberto Mancini think so.

How do you back up we would of won the league cup when we missed out to a last minute header from the most inform player on the planet!

We would have been three or four goals up by then with Elano playing, we surrendered the middle of the pitch in both games to a midfield we would have dominated with ease.

How do you back up we would be 2nd in the league when the reason we are where we are is because we play as a team

By play as a team you mean workrate and little creativity?, just look at the points dropped because we have been unable to break teams down due to no creativity in the middle.........liverpool as a good example

Name me 4 times elano grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck to control and changed everything about it, i can think of 1 and it was far to late by the time he decided to turn up

You name me four times when he was not hampered by numpties team selection and one tactic.........an the one your thinking of was only because due to injury the dogs bast*rd HAD to play that line up...........and who f*cked that game up for us, I`ll give you a clue........he was the only one in the ground that could not see Dunnie getting a red card coming, and the reason why was also his fault, the missing fullback formation left Dunnie getting dragged over to tackle a pace player every f*ckin time.

Robbies attitude was caused by the same numpty, doing the same thing, he had no understanding of flair players, and wanted shut of anyone he did not sign.

The ONLY bit you got right was that some people do indeed have a deluded veiw on Elano.

Agree 100%.

The stick Elano gets is unbelievable and way out of proportion to the number of 'bad' games he had. Even when people were saying he played shit he was still completing most of his passes and usually the only midfielder prepared to put a decent ball into the box.

People should also ask themselves if you had to take either Elano back or MH and the taffia who would it be??? No brainer imo

-- Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:46 pm --

I heard the opposite story, taffia wanted him out and pretty much forced him to go to the first non-English club who showed an interest.

ireland has been so poor this season, if elano had been half as bad, he would be castigated permanently on this site! ireland is no way near as good as elano!

He didnt play for brazil v ireland as he had a knock!

Its a shame he went, I believe Mancini showed an interest in him. Hes the type of player we are missing and would have been a great option for Mancini, this season at least.

Yeah but we could buy elano and not play him if we had the taffia back they would be running the club, bit of a weird comparison to try make

Im telling you lot just believe in a myth, that myth was built on his 5 first games for us and never went away

-- Tue Mar 09, 2010 2:58 pm --

If Inter where interested then that means Massimo Morrati is interested, and he has been partial to some whimsical who is playing well right now buys, and that link was made when Elano first joined us

Mourinho made sure Morrati gave him control of transfers.

Rubbish. Just accept the fact that people have different opinions to you.

Interesting you think he only had 5 good games, the figure most people pull out of their arse is 10. This lack of consensus only illustrates what I said above, different opinions.

I didnt say he only had 5 good games, need to read that again mate, i siad his myth was built off his first 5 games which where admitadlly amazing

but if you stand in the if he with us we would of won the league cup group then you are deluded

but then you prob got a very good answer to why only galatasaray of the mighty turkish league wanted him when he was for sale at a decent price for world class game changing creative midfielders??

Theres no fire without smoke. None of The club, Hughes, or any of the players came out and denied he was a bad influence. Maybe it was exaggerated he was. Are you making up all this stuff about the players you mentioned? They were all victims of bad publicity because they didn't get on with Hughes? That is nonsense.

How do you back up your argumant that he is 1 of the best creative midfielders

Me and the Brazilian manager, along with Roberto Mancini think so.

Find me a quote where Mancini has described Elano as one of the best creative midfielders. Dunga seems to pick him alot, but International football and Premier League football are a completely different kettle of fish.

How do you back up we would of won the league cup when we missed out to a last minute header from the most inform player on the planet!

We would have been three or four goals up by then with Elano playing, we surrendered the middle of the pitch in both games to a midfield we would have dominated with ease.

I don't know how you can come to that conclusion. Elano played 3 times against Man Utd in the past with us and did nothing.

How do you back up we would be 2nd in the league when the reason we are where we are is because we play as a team

By play as a team you mean workrate and little creativity?, just look at the points dropped because we have been unable to break teams down due to no creativity in the middle.........liverpool as a good example

I've seen more than enough games we've lacked creativity with Elano playing, both under Sven and Hughes.

So explain the games where he was crap under Sven.

Robbies attitude was caused by the same numpty, doing the same thing, he had no understanding of flair players, and wanted shut of anyone he did not sign.

Is that why Robinho is slagging off Mancini in the press, saying he lacks ability? Is that why he stormed after being subbed against Everton?

The ONLY bit you got right was that some people do indeed have a deluded veiw on Elano.

I guess thats the only thing thats right.

Elano will always split opinion on here, funny how it rears its head though at least once a fortnight.

I'd love some journo to ring him now and get his version of events now the Tafia have moved on.

Class player and would loved to have see how he would have played with NDJ and Barry doing all the defensive work in midfield

And Tommytheblue, agree completely that Ireland has had a worse season than Elano's last year - gets defended though as he's one of our own!
