Greatest Atmosphere ever at Maine Road

Sounds incredible, this!

Was at the game in the Kippax and remember it being absolutely packed.Never noticed till i watched these highlights. That the triangle of the Kippax next to the Platt Lane and below the fans was sparsely populated in the 1st half. But they must of let the people come out of the Kippax and fill up this section of the Kippax next to the Platt lane up.The official crowd was about 47k but there must of been about 52k on that day.

When king Colin made his comeback as a half time sub.
It was 0-0, finished 4-0, raw emotion from the crowd just lifted the whole team.
Newcastle didn’t know what the hell had just hit them
Yes that best one for me as well

I was in Platt lane that day and the Kippax was fit for bursting. There was a pocket of about 50 - 100 Charlton fans in the corner, but they moved them ( god knows where) and opened up the gates to take the strain off the Kippax. Swales well fiddled our attendances back in the day

in the all seater era I'd say the 1-0 almost promotion game against Birmingham game's the best I've experienced. Beats the playoff semi-final and the last derby.

The atmosphere before the first derby back in the Premier League in 2000 was pretty special. The rags scoring after 2 minutes or something put a dampener on things but its one of the few occasions I've seen blues in the ground singing 10-15 minutes before kick off.

This one for me as at an age (12) where i could appreciate the importance of the match.
I remember the pitch invasions and one guy was dragged to the ground by a steward, but managed to hold onto his meat n potatoe pie.
I remember coming home buzzing only to see the sad scenes on the tv of the Valley parade fire RIP.

I remember this one .Pissing down rain ,muddy pitch ,3 day week ,had to play early as no floodlights because of the oil crisis. The atmosphere in the Kippax that day was unbelievable.

check out 1:14 in and the forwardroll done by the ballboy after Franny scores the pen - fucking brilliant!
