Sounds like part of the frustration of the protestors is the lack of info on the number of ppl in the tower.

Whispers of a cover up in terms of the scale of this disaster already

Cover up? How can anybody know how many people were in the tower block that night let alone give a figure to how many have died as a lot of people would have been incinerated
We do not guess at things like this in this country, we have rules that are followed strictly and correctly and no amount of shouting and fighting outside town halls should change that, speed it up by all means but still do it correctly

All they would know is how many tenants occupied the building if all were present at the time of the fire starting.

I said to my son the other day, I genuinely think 24 hour rolling news is a blight on our society. The necessity to squeeze every last drop out of a story pretty much always ends up being appalling on various levels at some point.

I can't begin to understand what they are going through but what do they realistically expect?

30 deaths have been confirmed with 24(I think) receiving hospital treatment. The unfortunate reality is, the authorities probably don't know how many have died, I imagine there are floors and rooms yet to be searched

As someone else posed, the government/council need to be sure before they releasing numbers of dead/injured

Immediately after 9/11 the media were speculating about tens of thousands of deaths, based solely on the fact that the max capacity of the Twin Towers was 50,000

I think that's just money to cover the immediate aftermath & emergency costs. It works out at over £40k per flat.
