I hadn't thought about Meadow Lane. Definitely three. The big stand behind the goal when Gary Lund scored and knocked us out of the FA cup in 1992 (as well as the game in the third tier when Goater scored in the last minute); the opposite end in what could laughingly be described as a corporate box sat with a working men's club from Hucknall or Eastwood or thereabouts when Edin equalised in the FA Cup in 2011; the main stand the night (or was it the night after) 9/11 under Keegan - League Cup game iirc, seriously weird atmosphere; the other stand on Meadow Lane itself I've definitely sat in, but not for a City game as far as I can recall.

Re: Grounds where you have watched City from all four stands

Apart from our grounds only one Oldham unless you count Hyde for EDS games and various non-league grounds where we've played friendlies. I've done 3 sides at Coventry and Villa as well.

Re: Grounds where you have watched City from all four stands

Maine Road. I've been in every stand including the Gene Kelly to see that Pollock own goal. Also sat in a box. Plus, I've sat with away fans at Maine Road once, but this was in the Kippax - can someone tell me why away fans were in the Kippax?

Re: Grounds where you have watched City from all four stands

best i can do is 3 stands at anfield

all bar the kop

from memory don't think i ever sat in the north stand at maine rd but done the rest

same for the etihad only done 3 sides, not done the south stand

I'm not normally an OP Nazi but this was about away grounds. I think it's safe to say most regular-ish match going blues have been in all four stands at both grounds at some point.

Away fans were in the Kippax (following the end of standing) when the stand was half-finished in (I'm guessing) the 94-95 season. They were located at the Platt Lane end of the stand for the duration of that season as there was nowhere else for them to go due to the reduced capacity.

I've only been to MEadow Lane once watching City, and it was a cup game where we had both behind the goal and half of the stand up the side. IT was around and about 1995 and I think the game finished 2-2. FA Cup.

Could that be the one you're on about?

I've just thought of another where I've been in all four stands: Bradford. The Kop when we won promotion, behind the goal in division one, up the side in a game under Frank Clark where we had two ends and their main stand under Kevin Keegan.

Definitely not, DD. The game I'm on about we lost with a late goal from Gary Lund. Their keeper had a blinder that day too. It was in '91, a year before I moved to Nottingham which is why it sticks in my memory in particular. We absolutely battered them that day only for County to hit us with a sucker punch at the end. I do like County fans as a group but they've been dining out on that win, with me at least, for the last 23 years!

Open terraces seem a lifetime away!

Re: Grounds where you have watched City from all four stands

Just the ETIHAD. Not really a fan of behind the goal though so didn't apply for season ticket in the new area.

Sorry GDM, I wasn't clear in my post. I remember the 91 game.

I meant the game you hinted at at the bottom of your post when you said "the other stand at Meadow lane I've definitely sat in"

With regards to open terrace, they were shocking. Worthy of a thread in themselves. The traditionalists have forgotten how shit they were. Not only wet and cold, but totally silent due to the lack of roof.

Re: Grounds where you have watched City from all four stands

Away grounds only Villa Park.

Pre taker over when Frank was on the run in the Holte, 5-1 in the Trinity behind the dug out (Steve Redmond giving me the thumbs up when the 5th went in and i couldnt keep seated any longer) and the North and Doug Ellis quite a few times.

Done 3 at a few, Anfield, St Andrews, Stamford Bridge, Victoria Ground, the Hawthorns, Bramall lane, Hillsbourgh, Highfield rd and Selhurst park (1 was vs Wimbledon when the place was empty)

Re: Grounds where you have watched City from all four stands

I have watched City in all 4 stands at Maine Road, including the 2 open corners of the Kippax, and all 4 stands of the Etihad.

Away grounds, I think it is only Boundary Park where I have watched City from the 4 different stands.

At Blackburn I have watched City from 3 different stands, and also on a large hill outside the ground.

I have also watched City from 3 different stands at Villa Park, and the Victoria Ground, Stoke.

I watched City at Lokeren behind the goal sat on the pitch with the photographers for the first 20 minutes, and then I was escorted by a steward to a sit behind the City dug out for the rest of the game. The beer in Belgium is rather strong :-)

Maine rd all stands including whatever North stand was called before it was built North stand standing and seated and kippax standing and seated. Didn't go in new platt lane or the 2 open corners after they put seats in. Etihad not been in South stand but been in 5 of the 10 tiers.

Hyde. All in the same game ;-)
