Guardian's nominations for Premiership flop of the season.

Very good player.City had 15 clean sheets and got to a CL semi final, and won the League cup ,so someone in the back four must of been decisive and made City hard to break down ,he goes for it a lot and it comes off a lot
Players can stay on their feet all day but someone will have to try and win the ball eventually, or as soon as an opportunity presents itself ,hes fearless and attacks the ball

Considering the money paid for Otamendi, yes absolutely. Paying that kind of money you would expect to get a World Class CB in return. Otamendi has not shown any of that really. Not as bad as the Mangler but still.

Otters has had a bad season to be sure... but flop of the year... it's not been nearly that bad.

Bony, OtOH, is in strong contention.
============
For me, Otters is just way too aggressive - always diving into tackles. Maybe with the right partner, backing him up in case his aggressive plays fail - he'd be really good. Or maybe with some coaching so that he's not so aggressive in his play.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to our entire back 4 under Pep.

I am not saying he is the Flop of the year but he deserves a nomination, which is what a lot of people were arguing against here.

I think they put him there because remember, he cost £30 million or so and was at the time La Liga best defender
You don't come to the prem as Liga BBVA's best defender and put in a meh sort of performance. But at the same time totally wrong for him to be among Memphis Deflop (Who was the next Ronaldo remember? ahahaha)
Remember that time the press unanimously and regularly told us that Paulinho was the signing of the summer and Fernandinho was a laughable buy at £30m?

Where's Paulinho playing again?

I sure as hell remember that ahahaha
man I laughed soo hard at that

One will be even better with the best coach coming soon
The other plays with a manager.... well the league explains it all to be honest

So explain how Real Madrid managed 1 og in 180 minutes.

We conceded 41 goals in the League. The best defence conceded 35. And we were without Kompany for almost the entire season.

Avoidconfusion you are not doing what it says on the tin!
