Guardiola: “If the club wants me, I want to stay here”

The media’s primary agenda is to see Pep off. The best manager in world football, manages in the PL but the media would prefer him to leave simply because he’s not plying his trade with a red shirt club. Utterly bitter. They never miss a chance to encourage him to fuck off. First question after the Treble was now you’ve won the lot is it time to move on… ffs. Keep going Pep stay as long as you like.
He's fully aware of the media's hatred towards us and the funniest part is I reckon it's partly what motivates him to stay longer because he knows how much our success irritates them.

It's a bit like UEFA and the Premier League's attempts to slow us down at every turn and certain clubs, namely Liverpool, United, Arsenal and Tottenham, trying their absolute best to destroy our club. It has created a bond between Pep and City that I highly doubt he foresaw happening when he arrived.

If they hadn't felt so entitled to their place at the top then he probably would've left by now, perhaps even years ago. As it is I can't see him leaving until the PL case is resolved at the very earliest. All they have done is prolonged his stay which has lead to us creating history so I suppose we should be thankful.

Did nobody pick up on the post match press conference from Guardiola "one more year, maybe renew"?

I didn't see it in a different thread. Thought it was a genuine comment, so maybe not made up his mind just yet.
I mean it’s the way it’s always been with Guardiola. He doesn’t tie himself down too early and the club have an agreement to let him decide when he’s ready.

I have no doubt that his mates were being truthful when they said last summer he was spent and would leave in 2025, after the emotional and physical toll of the slog to the treble he must’ve been dead on his feet.

Equally I have no doubt he is loving the challenge this season (albeit he would rather Haaland and De Bruyne all year) and right now he is probably closer extending than leaving. The question is whether he will get enough challenge next season to convince him to sign on for another round.
