Guardiola fined £20,000 for wearing yellow ribbon (p140)

Well there won't be a £20k fine from Uefa. They seem to be quite happy with it!
And that won’t happen because our dear FA lobbied them to change their rule so that they didn’t get in trouble for sorting the poppy on their England shirts. This is despite the fact that the poppy “pissed off” (to use Glenn’s phrase) a lot of Irish nationalists who live in this country.

Plus the Spanish (Gibraltar), Argies (Falklands) etc etc

They've not been charged with anything so should be perfectly clear to travel where they want. You can't hold someone for 6 months on 'suspicion'.

I isn't right but internment is quite common in other 1st world countries, and you can hold people without charge in the UK for months depending what Act is used.

Pep is helping to promote the UAE next week so completely loses the moral high ground.

The aftermath of the Pie game , we have been fined £50k and £20k has anything happened to the pies , pitch invasion , their fan attacking one of our players or the Pies players surrounding Alty fan to get Delph sent off ? Zilch , Nothing , it never happened

Glenn seems to be familiar with a lot of people who are 'pissed' off - wonder if he's ever weighed up how many footy fans are pissed off with the FA?

You CANNOT be held in any prison in the UK without being charged with an offence. Under anti terrorism laws the police can hold you in a police station for 14 days without charge. The Catalan 4 are not terrorists, they have never advocated violence and indeed no Catalan has used violence as part of the independence movement.

That is wrong. Maximum is 14 days for terrorism. 24 hours for minor offences and the police can ask for up to 96 hours for murder and serious crimes.
To keep anyone longer, they have to be charged.

The 14 days was 3 months until very recently to the cut and paste lot.

Operation Demetrius and Shoot to Kill were not exactly libertarian.
