Guardiola goes to Bayern

Guardiola to City at the end of his Bayern contract to replace Mancini at the end of his when the two Spanish gentlemen have worked their magic with the academy.

We should all be very happy because he lacks experience. He might do well but I'd rather someone else took the gamble
This is exactly my thinking, I have always been unsure that he could replicate what he did at Barca elsewhere, I think the risk is to great, time will tell
I think Guardiola has chosen Bayern because they have a 10 year youth academy already in place and work similar to Barca bringing through young players to the senior team. Ours isn't established yet and I think that was a deciding factor.

Got to laugh at all these posts saying how "delighted" they are with this news.

Do any of you actually want to win the Champions League?

Pep going to Bayern significantly makes them stronger than us in the Champions League so it is just going to be even harder for us to win it in the next few years.

I haven't said it, but I'm about to.

Best news in ages.

Now we just need Mourinho to sort himself out elsewhere and we will have less destabilising forces to worry about.

Mancini is our coach, has a five year contract and it's about time we started showing him the respect he deserves (and has earned) by not constantly undermining his position.

Do you really think anyone on here is so influential that they can undermine his position? Really?

It's only banter on here mate and I doubt he is aware of any of it, or gives a flying one if he is.

The only people getting annoyed were the Mancini faithful and for them this is doubtless a good thing. To the man himself its all irrelevant.

It's a safe bet for Pep. Bayern are always 1st or 2nd in the Bundesliga, have the best players, a shit load of cash etc. He will be practicing his Bavarian lingo, oiling his Bratwurst and necking a Helles as we speak. In the words of twitch..."Only a dope could fail."

It would interesting to see the futures of Ribery, Robben, Gomez and Mandžukić but the rest of their sides is good enough to implement Guardiola's style of play.

i think ribery is aswell mate, do think they will spend big in the summer though,

Now I pray for mourinho c'mon Jose come to city and win us a champions league..if no mourinho then Mancini is the best option

Guardiola at Bayern, Eriksson at 1860. Interesting.

have some hope, that Pep will have his problems with language, Bundesliga and Bayern bosses have a say in everything

It is not a new style. Both systems are built up on the same base.

Short passing and triangles... van-Gaal-Style

Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Müller, Badstuber, Alaba - van-Gaal-kids...

Guardiola = his coaching teacher was van Gaal... (van Gaal had a big impact on La Masia)

Robben is no problem - only his injuries. Ribery ain't the Ribery of 3 years ago - and the team can handle him.

Gomez - yes.

Mandzukic - I do not know. He is a very hardworking forward and right now playing - not Gomez.

It is the same stuff we are talking about in Bayern forums. Yes, Gomez will have his problems. Ribery really has grown into a team player that takes care of the young ones like Alaba, Can and Shaq.

Very well said SCB. I'm with you.
