Guardiola goes to Bayern

Neuer
Lahm--Boateng--Dante--Alaba
Schweinsteiger--Martinez
Robben--Kroos/Muller---Ribery
Mandzukic

That is a proper team that Heynkes put together that played football in a way that was powerful, beautiful, and dominant.

If you had added Lewandowski back then they would have been unstoppable. I just think that Pep is such an overrated manager and I think he ruined a great Bayern team.
You are not alone. Like I said before the Bayern team was the best team I have ever seen. They should have been the first team since Milan to retain the CL. Shame it is not to be.

He had to change the team. If he kept the same team and same style of play and won every game that season and every trophy, he would have got next to no praise as everyone would have said it was the previous manager's team and he made no difference.

Current Bayern 1st team midfielders
Thiago
Gaudino
Alonso
Green
Martinez
Gotze
Hojberg
Muller
Ribery
Shaqiri
Robben
Rode
Scholl
Schweinsteiger
Weiser
That's 15 midfielders, 17 if you include Lahm and Alaba who seem to mostly play there under Pep.
???

Thiago, Alonso, Martinez, Gotze, Muller, Ribery, Shaqiri, Robben & Schweinsteiger are the only proper first teamers of which that can be broken down to:

-Martinez can play in defence.
-Ribery, Shaqiri, Robben are wingers.
-Muller can play up top.
-Thiago, Alonso, Gotze, Schweinsteiger compete for the 2 or 3 centre mid sports.

Not to be a football manager muppet but:
------------------------Neuer----------------------------
Lahm--------Boateng----------Benatia---------Alaba/Bernat
------------Alonso/Martinez-------Schweinsteiger-----------
Robben--------Muller/Gotze/Thiago/-------------------Ribery
----------------Lewandowski/Muller-------------------------

Looks alright to me, I do like the look of that Julian Green who featured in the world cup for the USA though. Most of the youth players will probably play in cup games, and dead rubbers when Bayern are 20 points clear for the billionth time. Although as others have said the team played better before Pep, should of won the CL back to back.

I think Bayern will be the team to beat this team.

Benatia, Alonso and Lewandowski are brilliant signings.

Alonso is past his best and really should not play that much when everyone is fit. Still they have the strongest team in the world against, but we will see what Pep does with them. It seems he has finally learnt that playing Lahm in midfield is stupid and cost them badly. Luckily Loew realised this at the world cup, before it was too late, moved him back and won the world cup.
