Guardiola pays tribute to City

Another top coach who rates Barry ;)

Mancini, Capello, Benitez, Wenger and now Guardiola. But what do they know? Half of the members on this forum think he's shite. They must be right...

Okay hold your horses, Barry has been in good form recently, but he is not even close to being 'class' or in the league of nasri, silva, yaya etc..

I guess Guardiola thinks differently

I think lots of people get confused between what they describe as 'class' and having flair. This idea that people only talk about attacking players when considering quality is pretty ignorant. Typical and perhaps over-used example, but look at Puyol; how often do you see him doing anything other than closing his man down and playing the ball out, nice and easy?

Barry has a job to do, and he does it well.

Exactly. It is easy not to see what he does when there are so many players around who do eye catching stuff. Regardless of if it is taking on a man in style, crunching tackles or killer passes. Some how Barry does not stand out but he does have class.

Probably something to do with how 'ordinary' he looks, would you pick him out easily in a crowd?

Just that sort of person.

Speaking of Pep - Barca play Villarreal later tonight. Be a good chance to imagine how City's similar front-six qualities will match up in CL group play.
