Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

I always wondered if him walking off against Swansea would impact him in the future.

Seemed very strange at the time, even if he was injured, to just walk off without permission with 90 seconds to play while we were hanging on to a slender lead.

At the time Pep just seemed confused but surely he must have been absolutely fuming.

If that's true then that's just petty by Pep. Throwing his weight around backfired with the keeper situation, does he really wanna add the CB to that as well?

But it's not true. It's obvious nonsense.

Pep probably believes that a 30+ year old centre back on 200,000 a week who hasn't played 5 straight games in about three years is probably not worth the money or hassle.

And he's right.

Well Joe vinny and kun are all biggies. Bet they are all gone soon enough. This is the pep show after all.

I reckon Toure will go too regardless of his Indian summer this season. Can see Silva being the only one to survive the old guard cull. TBH it's been a long time coming this clean broom.

I'm with you on this one. Reckon Pep had been a bit shocked about the state of our squad. A new dawn beckons.

I doubt it. A couple of fullbacks either from the cash or the Academy and the squad is good. Outside of that position there's nothing that needs desperately doing. CB would be nice but Denayer is coming back. Maybe another winger but we've got Roberts coming back.

Just the fullbacks for me. As so much of our build up is focused wide and we need our fullbacks to be comfortable cutting inside too, it's a difficult position to fill.

Is Denayer actually coming back and do you think this is enough to fill the Kompany sized gap in our defence? Our centre back options just are not good enough imo but I can't say I've watched much Sunderland this year.

In hindsight we probably should have replaced him last summer (even if we didn't ship him out) because our current options fall well short of the standard required.

Presumably Denayer will fill in for Kompany and we might fancy one more left footer. Kolarovs done the year after next.
