Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

Should've been done in the summer IMHO. It was obvious he would never get back to his imperious best, and it's left us short at CB this season - a large reason for our underwhelming season.

Thanks Vinny, but as the JH saga showed, no sentiment any more at City.

It feels like he left the club long ago. Probably hasnt played more than a handful of games in a row in 2 years and really has just become a face in the background now, so for me its a no brainer and not really going to have any impact on the side. It may also be the best thing for Vinnie as well.
3 league games this season, 15 the year before. Hasn't played more than 30 league games since 11/12. Such a shame, because 30 (the age) is nothing for a CB. No doubt someone will buy him and he'll play 38 uninterrupted games.

I hope when he's sat there with his children, gran kids he thinks back and remembers city love you more than you will know good look big man and thanks for the memories.:-(

nor should there be

Vinny and 16 others to leave the club in the summer, what a great time to release this, how are the 17 going to react to that news? knowing some players it will be fuck it i'm not wanted why should i care!
Should have been kept quiet until May
Look at it the other way...

Players view :

"ah shit, I will no longer be paid after the summer, I need to prove myself in the remaining matches at City as it is my shop window"

Wouldnt suprise me at all if he moved and suddenly was fit week in week out. That change of scenery, less pressure, maybe not as intense might be just what he needs. I certainly hope he does play on, he deserves the absolute best.

Or look at it in the sense of 'oh well, I've made multi millions with city, won most things, I'm happy to just drift along to see what comes up when I'm released'.

Players are not pieces of meat, pal - the vast majority will know where they are playing next season or at least have options on the table. We have a game per week now, so shouldn't need the squad players anyway

They are all professional, they know the drill. They are needed until they are not needed
Point taken but they are not exactly in the league of Doyle, Heslop, Oakes and Buzzer in loyalty and commitment to the club, Kolarov was arguing and gesticulating with the crowd again a couple of games ago, looks unprofessional to me
