How about this?....Kenneth Wolstenholme:-

"The referee is Mr D W Smith of Stonehouse, Gloucestershire,... inspected this ground twice before he decided it was fit to play"

A city manager said in a post match interview that he joked with his assistant about handing his notice in at half time.

Name the manager and the game.

Keegan and the FA cup comeback v Spuds?

Name this match...

Manchester City are still alive here......
And a few minutes before that he'd said (of the fans) "Where will they hide tonight? Where will they hide? "

Not about City, but who was geographically challenged when he said "There'll be dancing in the streets of Raith tonight"
And - different sport entirely - "He's missed it! Eee, poor lad."

Was the first one Gillingham 1999 - Alan Brazil??

Third one - rugby league, that miss right under the posts in the challenge cup final

Don Fox, Wakefield v Leeds. Why do I remember watching it? Because it was the same day as City won the league at Newcastle and I was sat in front of the telly waiting for score flashes from SJP.
