Guitar Thread

Whilst I would be a great fit in Oasis (and probably a decent foil between the 2 Gallagher's), that wasn't really my goal and isn't reflective of what I am playing up at present. ;-)

You got any other suggestions, I really like my Yamaha and it plays really nicely. My main reason for wanting another accoustic is that I can have one in 'E' and use the other for a 'Double drop D' or quirkier tunings for playing Stephen Stills/ Neil Young / Keith Richards or the like (I'm aware that is a proper first world problem)?

I'm terrible at DIY or anything handy so I wouldn't dream of attempting to 'improve' a guitars set up, I would definitely be outsourcing to a more skilled hand.

Cheers for the response.........

Ive Got an Ibanez acoustic, i think they are amazing for the money, even better when you get a full electric.

I play an White Gibson SG and i love that, but everyone is different. Id suggest waiting until the shops reopen and get yourself down to a shop, just try loads and see what feel's right. Its that simple really, until you mess around with a few, you will not know if you like it or not.

If you get stuck and need some setting up let me know. You should get them set up when you buy them really as even out of the box top end guitars need a pre set up. I know a great guy who toured around for years, fantastic guitarist. Since he retired he builds and sets up guitars for people. Be happy to put you in contact .

Had a few guitars over the years, not the greatest player but i enjoy them not the less.

For some weird reason I have a fixation on getting a green guitar with really good wood grain.

Epiphone made some beautiful guitars about 4 years ago that I regret not picking up.

Any specific models?

Yeh I'm sceptical about buying them blind without having held them but could be quite a while off getting back into a shop again.

From the cost or the guitars that I'm looking at, if it turned up and it played like a dog I would be comfortable that I could sell it on for similar money to reduce the risk.

Never really looked at the Ibanez's to be honest, not sure I've ever played one.

Much obliged on the set up front, I imagine to my guitars value may not be worth a high end specialist but I will certainly keep it as an option - appreciate it.........

I use a custom Tanglewood and a Washburn Stoneground acoustics for pro.work, together with a Telecaster and a vintage Fender resonator.

I play a Freshman electro acoustic, great guitars for the money and a Les Paul Std.

Used to own an Epiphone Casino, lovely guitar but as it’s hollow it fed back like a woman.
