What amp do you have? The best upgrade in terms of sound quality £ for £ is a decent amp. Modern budget guitars are generally really good. Where as a Modern budget amp is pretty limited. However that sail an amp needs to match the room and volume you play. A massive Marshall stack is unplayable at home for example.
Hi Pal. I have the amp in the attached photo.

Lockable tuners - worth the upgrade or no?

Looking at upgrading the ones on my Mexican Strat to the Fender lockables but from some of the reviews the best output is the speed of changing strings (seems shite to me?).

Do they hold tune better is effectively what I'm asking.

All inputs welcome.............

How often do you have to tune your guitar?
I only have to tune mine after it leaves my house to go for a lesson. I don't have lockable tuners on my budget PRS and it stays in tune.

A brief daily tweak and a more through possibly every couple of days (unless I am doing some serious bending).

I was just evaluating the upsides is all.........

And don't forget..
Locking tuners eliminate the need for wrapping the string multiple times, making string changes quicker and easier.

I can live without the speed of change (I'm sure this position will trip me up at some point) :-) but certainly the tuning element.

Worth it's weight in gold...........

Gentlemen, my tutor gave me Wonderful Tonight by Eric Claptop to learn. This is my first introduction to bending. He bends it up a full step and then bends in back down. I am really struggling muting the other strings with my strumming hand. So much so, I wanted to launch my guitar through the wall.

Have you got any tips for me?

Just keep at it, it's easy once you can do it :)
Practice practice practice.

Not sure if I've read this right but I don't mute strings with my strumming hand if I bend an individual string. The tips of the fingers that I'm using to bend mute the string above and my hand placement mutes the ones below with my pointer finger. I Always use the fretting hand not the strummin hand. never really thought about how before really.

I tend to solo with a flatter fretting hand as it mutes strings around the ones you want to play to stop unwanted mishits and ringing out.

Presumably means palm muting the strings.
