Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

Life's not fair sometimes.
Don't envy his next 6 months but trust he will come back from this to be an important player for us again.
Real pity.
Best wishes Illy.

doesnt say which cruciate ligament. Does that matter as far as recovery time and recovery ability?

Assume it's ACL as PCL can be treated by bracing and not surgery.

I've spoken to a sports rehabilitator who tells me that when Gundogan dislocated his knee cap the chances are it will have brought the ACL forward, making it far more susceptible to an impact injury. They've also told me that if it's a complete rupture the treatment will be a graft taken from the hamstring, which then may lead to a weakened hamstring and problems in the future

Here's a video of some pioneering ACL treatment. However I doubt that at the moment a club would risk a multi million pound investment with the new treatment

Yeah, I didn't think it was a foul at the time either. Just saw some people on here saying it was a bad challenge.
It definitely wasn't intentional as far as injuring him is concerned, but he had no chance at all to actually get to the ball before Gundogan after losing it and simply clattered into him to stop City's chance of an attack. It was innocuous but certainly 100% avoidable.
