Not buying this "he's injury prone" narrative, he's clearly not. Before this latest injury his only other major injury was his spinal compression, which isn't your run of the mill footballer injury and he hasn't suffered any relapses of the same injury. All of his other ones have been niggly strains or impact injuries which happen to all players in their career.

He's played 40 times in all competitions this season which is a similar amount of game time as Kev (41) and more than Silva (36). He's played only 10 games less this season than Fernandinho and he's been a mainstay of our team all season.

So many doom and gloom merchants, all that matters is he's going to be a game changer for our midfield when he recovers (which he will!!) and I cant wait to see him in action. Absolute bargain.

Sometimes players get reputations for being injury prone when the facts are very different, Aguero is the same he played 44 games this season and only once in his 5 seasons has he played less than 40. Yet even City fans will tell you he is injury prone.

I know, hilarious!
At the same age:
Kdb 8 goals in 36 while playing for genk in the Belgian league.
Aguero: 21 goals in 47 as an out and out striker.
Sterling: 11 goals in 42, playing on the wing, main reason for city progress in CL in an injury hit season that is admittedly poor by his standards, in an awful team that plays precisely to negate his strengths..

You forgot to add that we would be lucky to get sane as an upgrade - almost same age, scored about as many goals so far as sterling has in each of his past three seasons.

And then we have the nerve to accuse BT of taking a negative tone against city.
I like you. And this post.

Well we play 60 off games so he does miss 1/3 of them. But I get your point.

Being honest its a cheap risk. He has a lot of talent but with injuries it is always a worry to see if they recover to the levels they were already playing to. I think if it happens it will be a good signing for the club long term. I also feel if he is out up until October or November its not a big loss. Next season will be a hard season for him but I think he has enough talent to make a positive impact to the team long term. We might not see the best of him for a year or so. But he is the type of player we should be going for.

Some league cup games he would have missed anyway, really it's a perspective thing, Hart and Fernandinho played 47 and 46 games yet neither of those would be thought of as injury prone. So anybody playing around 40 -45 a season is doing ok and really if the squad is used properly should be a maximum plus international games, to allow players to recover.
