Well that wouldn't happen after the Euros start would it?
It is all assumption till the fat lady sings and i am no publicity expert, but I'm thinking that selling the "New Era" at city by announcing the signing of a injured player on his own is not what our PR department would do to gain impact. My assumption is wanting a WOW factor to get those lucrative sponsorship deals in.

I know it is jolly unpleasant to loyal fans and bed wetters to not announce just after the ink is dry, but funding the group is not just selling more oil

Why is everyone getting so excited because of what a few of the newspapers say . It's been on the front page of the website for over a week.

This makes it sound like it was Gundogan OR Pogba.....and not both! Maybe Gundogan was plan B if we couldnt get Pogba?

The move for Gundogan means the prospect of City going for Paul Pogba, who could demand up to £400,000 a week, has receded. [Independent]

Possibly, they are essentially the same type of player. No need to have both plus Fernandinho. Now we need the upgrade to Delph/Fernando who's more defensive.

No they are not the same type of player at all. And even if they were, it would be silly to not sign one if you have the other. Put both in a Midfield, and it will be practically impossible to dominate that team. Barcelona will have a hard time dominating a Pogba, Gundogan, Fernandihno midfield.

Yeah I see Gundogan as the one that would connect our defenders with Pogba. Pogba is a little bit more advanced that Gundogan positionally.

I see the connection goes like this:
Defenders -> Gundogan -> Pogba -> KDB/Wings -> Kun

^^Guys Guys, It's not going to be that straightforward. Knowing Pep, It is quite possible that he'll either promote a youngster or completely change an existing first teamers position to midfield or anywhere else for that matter. Just like he did with Lahm, Kimmich, Mascherano, Javi Martinez, Alaba.....

Ver interesting times ahead....
