A horrible,arrogant and,ultimately,embarrassing thread.

Never been as big as you?
9 titles 5 fa cups one European cup only four seasons out of top flight
In 135 years ( what's your count on that) it was only the fact both world wars started when we were Champs that the title list would have been more, dream on with your three
Starred badge and start acting with the class you used to be known for good night till next time
come on mate everton are a decent club but will never get anywhere near city in terms of global appeal and fan base. trophies are a guide but only a guide. huddersfield won the title 3 times in a row,are they bigger than us? or even you? no. as i say in the op everton's reaction tells you who are the big boys here. you could of course still finish above liverpool, if next season you get a chairman who will spend you definitely will.

Can I ask how you guys celebrated your penalty shoot out win against Gillingham in 1999? Did you tone down your celebrations because you were such a massive club at the time? Or, did you ACTUALLY celebrate as if you had won the cup at Wembley? I'm sure I will get a load of honest answers on that one.
You became the richest club in the world overnight, and that is what you are unfortunately, the most richest club in the world! And I'm afraid that beating the richest club in the world is a pretty big 'scalp' for most teams these days.
A lot of you are ignoring the week that preceeded our victory over you yesterday (It was shit, and many Evertonians had been at each other's throats). You're the current champions of England and we beat you 2-0 with 10 men. Why shouldn't we celebrate?
And what was it about our celebrations that supposedly likened them to our celebrations when we have won trophies? It seems that what you are referring to is a loud cheer and a few lads hugging their mates. If that's how you celebrate your trophies then I think you need some lessons on how to party!
As for Kenwright and his crocodile tears, there's no surpise on that one. I'm surprised he hasn't come out and told everyone that Dixie Dean featured in his dream the night before and told him that we would win 2-0. He is full of shit, and a bad, cringeworthy actor. So no surprise there.
The main thread on Grand Old Team forum at the moment is entitled 'All is not forgiven', with loads of Evertonians venting their frustration about how the quarter final was a more important game than yesterday.
We were a million miles away from celebrating as if we had won the cup yesterday. There has been no roof top bus parade, and it won't be something we will be telling our grandchldren about. Do you know why? Because we beat City pretty regularly, and it isn't quite the big deal to us that you think it is (want it to be).
A refreshingly different perspective from the blue side of Merseyside. I actually don't ever think Everton view the home game against us as 'their Cup Final' at all. In fact, I didn't think they played particularly well yesterday (didn't need too as it turned out). The game last season when they beat us 1-0 courtesy of Gibson's deflected shot was a much higher quality game. We were much better and Everton had to play (and defend) really well to beat us). I've seen them pass the ball much better than they did yesterday. Effort-wise yesterday, only 1 team wanted it.

You are now yes of course but in the past mate come on eh be serious.
It was only our bad luck with Heysel and being Champions in the era just before the Sky explosion when your neighbours struck lucky that stopped us being well seriously big
We actually got voted World Club side of the year, we have had hard luck stories but to be honest if ever a fan base deserved something it was you.
We are still the fourth most successful club in the land and not a single club can come close
To our record of just those couple of seasons out the top flight.
We may one day strike lucky like you did it would not surprise me if we did and that prick
Of a chairman did one.
shackattack said:the moyes reaction was more of a fingers up to the crowd after the stick he got last week after and during the wigan game. as for the fans celebration - last minute goal from jelavic contributed as much to it as beating city.fans and players alike respected the work he has put in and how much the goal meant to him. we would sooner have had a win against wigan any day of the week. and kenwrights tears - he was an actor remember. give me goodison on a good day than a great escape/ foam hands / tom hark crowd anyday.

Ok I'll be serious now :)
You don't need kenwright, I thought you had a rich guy on your board, a lord or something? He's proper wealthy. Knowing the money and rewards the prem gives this guy should help the club out. Also wasn't everton one of the clubs our owners looked at but were rebuffed?. Everton are a big club, along with us, villa Newcastle and spurs are what I call proper clubs. It's clubs like this that keep the prem going against the obvious bias shown to the old "top 4" . City and spurs have broken that and with the right chairman Everton 100% could.
Good luck.

We can all talk about bad luck pal.
Our dodgy chairman crippled the club for 30 odd years.
