Haaland’s penalties…be careful what you wish for!

He shoots his pens exactly how he finishes. Always putting his foot to the side. Since he is a big name he will keep shooting them. Any other person wouldn’t shoot anymore. His pens are at like 60% for us. That’s extremely horrible.

Aguero missed some important ones especially against spuds away which came to bite us on our arse 2nd leg in a European cup game.
I seem to remember Sergio’s record in the premier league was very good but in Europe not so much

He didn’t miss any and tended to hit the side netting. So not sure why you think he wasn’t great at them. Unfortunately he missed one in the champs league final for Chelsea though.
Don’t think he had a great record aside from us? And strangely one always sticks in my mind against Villa where Sorensen got 2 hand to it and it went through him.

I know he didn’t miss any, but I never felt confident. Not like an Elano, Yaya or Balotelli, with those you knew the outcome.

Balotelli was cool as a cucumber. Don't recall him ever missing one. If Aguero had gone down in that epic moment and we had been awarded a pen (no guarantees there as we well know) I think he would have slotted it home to win the title
Yes Balotelli would have scored I'm sure...............however I'm not sure Aguero would have.

Penalties are about mental focus more than anything else.

The frame of the goal is 8 feet (2.4 metres)......by 8 yards (7.3 metres).

It should be impossible for the keeper to save them, but as we know it isn't like that in reality.

Accuracy is key.
John Robertsrtson, nottm Forest used to slot his penalty kicks away, with the minimum of fuss.
Played left wing for 2 decades of top flight football in this country, but he was a right footed player.
He scored the winning penalty in the league cup final replay v Liverpool late 80s,at old trafford,
with a right foot push kick.
We’re all getting older and losing track of the years but that League Cup final replay was in 1978!

Football fans think they know better than best professional football player in his position in the world… shocker….

Some will be questioning Pep’s methods next!

Agreed Shearer was a brilliant striker of a dead ball.

Dont forget Mark Ward,at City under Kendall.used to give that ball some violence from a spot kick.
Saw him do it many times for City, the best was away at Anfield 2-2 draw. Prob the best City penalty I've ever seen( till Nunez v utd!) Ward hit the ball so hard from a penalty it nearly took grobelaars face off.Brutal.
Mark Ward was half the size of Shearer but he packed just as much power into his penalty shots.
I agree Mark Ward was good but didn't he miss a couple in 90/91 which led to Alan Harper taking one at v Leeds (i think) at home which he ballooned over the bar, we then got another one later that game which I think Ward then scored
