dirty fucking bastards.

using their logic i reckon they owe me a ton for doing all their work for the last 4 months.
Are you not getting a carers allowance mate (not that it covers fuck all but still)

No. The stuff i do that she can't i would do anyway. The other stuff like having to be nearby, emotional support etc probably doesn't come within the rules for qualification. And i can't be arsed telling yet another total stranger mine and my wifes lifes story.

Thanks Zin but no, i didnt post this asking for cash. I have my pride mate

I I just wanted people to be aware of what happens in the real world. So much is in the papers about scroungers and it hurts

Mate it's not like that at all, Breaks my heart shit like this, and I had no intention of offending you but it's a personal thing with me, it's something I'd like to do and in no way should it be seen as anything other than as someone who owes people like yourself!

Without the Rascals of this world with their Spitfires and Lancaster Bombers we'd have been overrun by bloody Germans.

:-D

Lets just step back and look at whats being asked for, the benefits paid to you include an amount to feed yourself (Yes, I know its shit), because you have been in hospital more than 50 days you have not had to spend money on food, heating, lighting, and the other things that add up when your at home, and are expected to make a contribution for your keep.

I say contribution because while it may be true the cost per day for meals may well be only 1.17, the true cost if you include the staff, heating, right down to the plate, knife, and fork have to be paid for you can bet its a lot more.

Had they said to you we will deduct 2 quid a day while you are in I doubt you would have seen this as so unfair, its because they demand it as a lump sum it looks so unreasonable, so contact them and explain that due to your limited income you will struggle to pay it back and ask what they suggest.

There are a lot of things in the benefit system that are grossly unfair but this aint one of them,

You sir are spot on

I can't agree. If someone is in work or on a private pension they are not expected to pay a penny piece towards their keep in hospital, not even if they're on £200k a year. A fairer system would be to ask everyone to pay a reasonable contribution (i.e. what they could afford) to the cost of meals. This might have the side effect of improving the menus, though I suspect in fact the money would be taken into the 'pot' and wasted.

Do all workers not pay NI contributions? As a percentage of any wage/salary?

As such, everyone pays their penny piece toward their keep in hospital. Being asked to pay again when you actually need treatment is a touch shoddy do you not think?

Absolutely spot on. I think it a damn disgrace.
