Half chips, half rice?

‘half n half’ very popular in Indian restaurants in Cardiff 50 years ago. Took me by surprise then, still does!
Nice!

In the States we don't have this - at least where I live (near Seattle in Washington State). We have mostly Americanized curry - invariably with rice. If potatoes are added - it's just as potatoes (e.g., Vindaloo) - and never as chips.

If you want to try what we are on about, Chinese chippy curry sauce, Mayflower brand is pretty much identical.
I'm sure you can probably get it off Amazon...It's cheap as chips! (pardon the pun)
Or one of the more affluent mooners could send you some.

Watching Question of Sport last night and the question of a curry came up - Paddy McGuinness said he always had it with half chips, half rice. What kind of abomination is that? Is it a northern thing or is McGuinness just weird?
It’s half rice half chips, you fucking heathen.…
Also, you ask this question despite living in an area that looks at you as if you’re a mass murderer when you ask for gravy…………

He's from Bolton so I think that concludes he is weird. I exclude Clive from the database of weird Boltonians.

You mean the bits of batter left over ?
They are the best bit. I go to a chippy in town for night matches, pie, chips and gravy oh can I have a load of scraps on top please.
Yes, but i haven't eaten scraps for years and i won't be eating any soon because I'm turning into a fat bastard, and scraps wont help my cause musty.
