Man City close on £22million Gourcuff
Manchester City are set to make a £22million bid for Bordeaux's French midfielder, Yoann Gourcuff.
The Sun reported that Gourcuff has come to Roberto Mancini's attention and the blue half of Manchester could soon be witnessing one of France's top midfielders in action.
The former AC Milan star, who was once touted as the heir apparent to Zinedane Zidane's throne as France's best attacking midfielder, has had two sensational seasons with the Ligue 1 giants.
However, with news that Laurent Blanc will most likely be taking over as France national team coach at the end of the World Cup filtering through in the last few days, Gourcuff is said to be unhappy with the situation at the club.
Mancini, sees Gourcuff as the man who could help the cash-rich club navigate their way to the top of the Premier League table next season.
Gourcuff has 17 international caps and along with Franck Ribery, will be the key duo for France in South Africa next month, as the Les Bleus take aim at the World Cup trophy.
