Handball rule is changing again

What is immediately ? Mahrez would still have had his goal ruled out just because it is wide open to interpretation. The handball rule should have been left well alone. I dont like VAR but it would have ruled out the Boley goal against us which is the one cited as the reason for the stupid change.
I thought it was Agueros v Arsenal,

Whatever the rule is,
  1. It should be the same for all players
  2. It should be simple
  3. It should not include references to what it could lead to
  4. It should not have phrases that are open to interpretation , beyond 'accidental'
Can't remember the handball rule or offside rule being this contentious in the 60's / 70's apart from the Leeds / WBA game
There was a goal scored for England by Franny against N.I. where Franny had put his hands in front of his face when a clearance was lashed at him. The ball rebounded some distance in front of him and Franny ran on to score. N.I. not pleased.

That ‘goal’ prevented us from back to back 100 points.

The news broke earlier (March or so), but the new handball law is much shorter. It reads that a ball striking an arm in a natural position will no longer lead to goals being automatically ruled out - it has to be immediate.

Handling the ball
For the purposes of determining handball offences, the upper boundary of the arm is in line with the bottom of the armpit. Not every touch of a player’s hand/arm with the ball is an offence.
It is an offence if a player:
• deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball
• touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger.
A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised
• scores in the opponents’ goal:
• directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper
• immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental

It is to be hoped that the FA tell the ref this year as it gets tiresome trying to work out which years rules are going to be applied on the pitch before being changed at VAR headquarters.

We all know by now that the handball rules are applied according to whether they favour the two cheeks of the same arse or not.

Are they imagining a goalkeeper punching the ball from their own penalty area all the way into the opposition goal? Don't think even Ederson can do that - but would love to see it, even if it is ruled out!
