Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

Would it not be easier to just ignore them, they`re entitled to their opinion regardless of them being factually incorrect.
We`re champions of England,Mario has a champions medal, that`s all that matters, it`s not worth worrying about others opinions.

In general I agree with that and let pundits opinions roll, however from some there is a xenophobic vindictveness in their reaction to Balotelli that is unpleasant amd wholly lacking in humour insight or reason.

Come on some of Marios behaviour since he joined us also could have been described as vindictive, unpleasant and lacking in insight and reason. He has done some bad things on the pitch, set out to hurt opponents for no apparent reason, shown a petulant attitude on several occasions and clearly often not given his all to our club.

He showed last night that he is capable of so much more and I expect to see it next year, not in patches and flashes of brilliance, we know thats in there I want to see the same graft and passion Italy got last night, and we have seen rarely in blue.

Suppose I'll get abuse again from mods for posting this, but I guess rational debate has been outlawed on here.

Fair comment tbh..I have always backed Balo,he has now set a benchmark that we should expect him to follow when he plays games for City...

Maybe, just maybe this tournament will be the catalyst for Balo to shine and prove just how good he is..

Good post,nail on head.

When?

Take the blinkers off mate,it's what lets his 'superfans' down.

He's been involved in some incidents on the pitch but I don't think it means he set out to specifically hurt anyone. At best, he just gets caught up in the heat of the moment and maybe kicks out but how you put it makes it sound pre meditated.

I thought that tackle on Song was retaliation for a similar tackle Song pulled on Yaya a little bit earlier. So I approved.

Mario has an arrogance, a bad boy act and a style of play which just aren't very English. As a result he is the ultimate pantomime villian for media, referees and opposition players and fans. Knobheads like Hansen and Lawrenson take it too far and let it descend into something more personal and it now sounds like a weekly vendetta against him. They are the fools though, because clearly Mario is one of the most successful 21 year olds to play football. Pundits who criticise him, need to remember his age, most players at 21 haven't even appeared for their first team let alone won almost every medal going. Some blues would do well to remeber that that too - he will continue to develop and it is scary to think what he can become. Too many people were willing to let him be the scapegoat if we had lost the league to United and see him out of the club.

It's a pity some of us have started to justify the BBC's treatment of Balo. His "bad boy" act is nothing like Barton's who gets understanding and no constant abuse and mockery. Football is the only area of the normally PC BBC where Lawrenson could get away with routinely abusing a black person. Ron Atkinson was the only pundit to get caught using the term ****** about a black player he disliked. Are we to assume that when the mic is turned off Lawrenson, Mowbray and the like say nice things about Mario? Balo is one of ours so we have noticed this stuff but to be honest black players tend to get a much rougher ride than others. If Torres had been black I doubt that he'd get the sympathy and support he gets after being a 50 million flop.

I found this on Twitter... BBC & Balotelli Update... pic.twitter.com/J6IlOEW8

The BBC's defence will be "But look at his behaviour". Let's not help them get out of jail by attacking Balo here.

Absolute paranoid nonsense, Barton gets criticised severely (deservedly) and Torres has been the subject of ridicule for pundits for the last 12 months.

Making out that this is a race issue does nobody any favours least of all Mario.

On the flip side, some people are also too eager to dismiss the very idea that at least some of this hatred directed at Balotelli has to do with race even though he's had to deal with a lot of it already. It's not so outlandish to suggest that there could be elements of racism mixed with all that hate.

SSN no better either this morning. 'Expert' Tony Gale was on hand to sneer "Don't tell me Balotelli's a better player than Wayne Rooney", Joe Hart's place in the official team of the tournament was despite him having been "a bit flappy", and best laugh of all "Michael Carrick could play the Pirlo role for England". Cnuts, one and all......
Tony Gale is pond life.

Actually he is a really nice guy, having met him many moons ago and talked all things City. However when it comes to his views he is just towing the "rag"party line at Sky.
Rooney is a pub player,Carrick-Fuck me the mind boggles....He really is just shite
