Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

Well, whatever the ins and outs of whether they were racist or not I find it interestin that I only complained about one specific incident/remark which had nothing whatsoever to do with race and got exactly the same response as everyone else!! The BBC saw the subject heading, MOTD Live and just sent the standard reply.

I now await their reaction to my further complaint!!

Hansen managed another spiteful attack on Mario in today's Telegraph I see
Mario Balotelli had a great game against Germany, but that doesn’t make him a great striker.

It is one game in one tournament. It has to be the start, not the highlight for him.

He was very impressive against the Germans at Euro 2012. The first goal was a fantastic header and the second was a magnificent strike; it was despatched with such venom from 25 yards it was unstoppable.
The German defence had a shocker, but you can’t argue with the quality of the finish and that is what Balotelli is capable of doing.
We already knew that. Nobody has ever doubted his ability, but at some point he has to grow up. The encouraging thing was, as well as scoring the two goals against Germany, there was also no sign of any petulance or trouble.
He has grabbed the headlines because of the goals he scored and that is the way it should be. Too often we hear about Balotelli’s behaviour, his tantrums, not his performances.
There was a bit of petulance I suppose in his celebration after the second goal, but that’s OK, you can live with that when he has just scored such an important goal for the team on such a big stage.
sickening really

Hansen in 'doesn't understand basic English shocker"

Petulant (ˈpɛtjʊlənt)

— adj
irritable, impatient, or sullen in a peevish or capricious way.

In no way was Mario's celebration any of these things.

Hansen really is well past his sell-by date.

I'm not saying that they are overt racists - I certainly couldn't prove that. But I'm saying they echo the attitudes of the 1970's, where many working class men (including football players) thought nothing of racially abusing black people.

Dangerous nonsense being dished out again here. Over 20m people watched the England-Italy game. Lets be wildly pessimistic and suggest 100,000 of these people were black. What is wrong with these people that they did not notice this racism? How have they watched MOTD without realising the institutional racism involved?

Surely the only thing to do here is put radicalised white Manchester City supporters in charge of the Commision for Racial Equality and all the media watchdogs as City supporters are obviously the only people who can spot these evil 70's working class white male racists.

Radicalised City supporters must protect these black people who are unable to spot this racism themselves. We must help the helpless.

To coin your phrase Prestwich, utter bollocks. Utter dangerous bollocks at that.
You really do not have a clue what I'm saying do you?

The traditional BBC football commentator tends to be more xenophobic than racist in my view. He thinks most contintal players are essentially diving cheats.

The attitude to race is more patronising than hostile, 'They can't play inthe cold, run fast but can't defend' etc.
A personal view is that with the increased numbers of black English the latter views have pretty much subsided but the xenophobic attitudes remain.

Was listening to the press pass on talkshite before with des Kelly and a couple of journo's.

They were debating bbc1 v itv presenters, took a bit if stick did old scarface, think it was Kelly or Jason burt who said Hanson def had issues with mario . .

They also said he was living off something he was half decent at doing 10 years ago.

As long as we're mocking the media, look at this from the Guardian:

[bigimg]http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2012/6/30/1341070739731/-Mario-Balotelli-and-Ange-008.jpg[/bigimg]

Cesare Prandelli has praised Italy's Mario Balotelli, seen here with the defender Angelo Ogbonna as the team arrive in Kiev ahead of the Euro 2012 final.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/30/euro-2012-mario-balotelli-italy" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... elli-italy</a>

I think that's his brother Enoch, not Angelo Ogbonna!
