Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

TCIB : IQ and related issues relating to race and intelligence are long held and referred to within the history of racists and those that are apologists for racists, hence the idea that blacks are less well evolved and closer to our ape ancestors.... This is all part of the racism the likes of Mario have to endure. In this week alone he has been called thick by at least two bbc presenters and pictured as King Kong in a national newspaper.

Mario being called thick still isn't a racist comment. Its an opinion based on the individual. Many City fans on here call him mad Mario, bonkers are thing the antics he gets upto are stupid. Its not a reflection on his ethnicity or nationality but an opinion based on his actions as an individual which have been documented within the press and the personal observations of the pundit.

Is calling him thick acceptable? I can understand why many people don't think. But its not racist.

Good article in Telegraph, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -boys.html , my assertion, which I will stick to is that the cumulative incidents are borne out of racist under currents, and that given the overt racism being thrown at Mario, the professional broadcasters at the BBC should have been sensitive to the language, phrases and implication of their statements. They are there to set a standard after all. Racism does not have to be overt to be present. Institutional racism is all about the fact that it is invidious ...... I also agree that calling anyone thick whatever their ethnicity is not acceptable on a public broadcast... And despite what I have focussed on earlier it is this defamation of character that is actually the most important factor in the issue of broadcasting standards (or lack of)

Ps Monkfish.... Complaints were made against Hansen and an apology made by him...

Complaint submited.
I hope the jet that brings the cunts back home crashes though. Two fucking ex-scouse punk less

Hansen, Lawrenson and Shearer's punditry has been, to use a phrase I read elsewhere, a 'risible disgrace'. The comments about Balotelli were not only offensively unfair, they were just plain wrong ('he hasn't achieved anything yet' etc etc). The blinkered, biased comments are unfortunately only the tip of the iceberg. What really gets me is the shear ineptitude of these men who are paid a very tidy sum indeed to talk about football.

They appear to do little or no research prior to games (the least we should expect given their wages which we pay for through the licence fee) and often admit to not knowing much about certain players or teams. I haven't heard of lots of the players in Euro 2012, but it's not my paid occupation to know about these things. Hansen in particular could easily be replaced by a tape recorder with 5 or 6 set phrases to be played at intervals between Lineker's atrocious puns.

With the likes of Michael Cox (ESPN/Zonal Marking), James Richardson et al (The Guardian podcast) and a plethora of exceptional European expert analysts/bloggers (Honigstein, Auclair, Sid Lowe) providing such insightful analysis, why do we have to put up with three blokes who just turn up and spout meaningless, stereotyped drivel at us while laughing at each other's (piss poor) jokes?

I know the 'AC Jimbo' (cringe) types are not the most popular on here (and I for one can't abide Barry Glendenning) but at least they talk about what they see on the pitch, do their research and speak from knowledge. Isn't it about time we stopped giving outrageously dull ex-players this national platform to spoon feed us their jaundiced ill-informed bullshit?

-- Sat Jun 30, 2012 3:14 am --

As for Lawrenson or whoever it was (they all merge in to one massive whirlwind of bullshit in my head) calling him 'stupid', he seems to have mastered English in a remarkably short amount of time. Let's pack Hansen off to Italy and see how he does.

Would it not be easier to just ignore them, they`re entitled to their opinion regardless of them being factually incorrect.
We`re champions of England,Mario has a champions medal, that`s all that matters, it`s not worth worrying about others opinions.

In general I agree with that and let pundits opinions roll, however from some there is a xenophobic vindictveness in their reaction to Balotelli that is unpleasant amd wholly lacking in humour insight or reason.

Come on some of Marios behaviour since he joined us also could have been described as vindictive, unpleasant and lacking in insight and reason. He has done some bad things on the pitch, set out to hurt opponents for no apparent reason, shown a petulant attitude on several occasions and clearly often not given his all to our club.
Mario has certainly not behaved and performed perfectly at all times. At times he has behaved poorly, I have no objection to him being criticised for it. Some but not all commentators however use it as a stick to beat him however he plays. Every look is interpreted as dissent, every missed opportunity is lack of effort. There is a xenophobic streak amongst some English commentators whereby only foreigners dive, cheat and waste time. These commetnators have a field day with Mario.
I have no quarrell with the ones who criticse him when his behaviour deserves it as at times it obviously does. Just those creepy xenophobes whose wages I pay with my license fee whose belief system seems to be that only the English know how to behave.

If Mario was white, English, and played for England and United (or Liverpool), and nothing else was different, these same guys would wanking themselves silly over him.

Paranoid delusional persecution complex nonsense.

Funny that only radicalised City supporters have spotted this racist behaviour, the rest of the world must be blind to the truth that only a select few like yourself can see.

If you take the 'White' part out of it, there's not too much wrong with that statement.
