Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

I really think that the BBC has a made a massive error in calling Balotelli's treatment "fair and balanced". Any third party such as "Kick It Out" that viewed the coverage of Italy's matches would find nothing balanced and fair about it. Trust me, the BBC will have to concede that Balotelli was victimised.

And hopefully all these other so called pundits take note who borderline on character assassination, why do we have to listen to what they coincide to be there opinion when we are quite capable of making our own minds up, Hanson and Lawrenson have stepped way over the line on this issue.

Hopefully the correct decision is made by the BBC and bring this once great institution Match of the Day back up to date, otherwise until the decision to replace these two individuals is acted upon, I will be one of the many growing licence payers who are slowly switching this program over when aired.

Has complaining to the BBC made a difference? It is too early to tell, but I very much suspect that something has been said to the pundits (even if Hansen’s and Lawrenson’s behaviour has not improved as yet). It was very noticeable how Gary Lineker distanced himself from the opinions of Hansen on two occasions: the England v Italy game and the Final itself. He clearly isn’t comfortable around him on the subject of Balotelli, and has made it clear that he does not feel the same way. I urge people to complain to the BBC if they haven’t already done so, because it is important to demonstrate that the punditry of Hansen and Lawrenson in particular is not acceptable. The BBC cannot be seen to sweep this under the carpet, especially if prejudice is involved.

Having watched MOTD, and played and followed football all my life (I'm 62). I feel I must complain to the BBC for the first time. Throughout this season I have heard countless biased snide comments from Mr Alan Hansen about a Manchester City team that performed excellently throughout the year and eventually won the championship. I take it that his cherished Liverpool team had under performed and everybody else had to pay. The standard of the punditry on MOTD is at an all time low. The sniggering clique is an embarrassment now and I suggest you get some new blood in for next season, or as soon as possible. Unfortunately I had to suffer him and his cronies again during your coverage of the Euro Championship. I find his manner and bias questionable. He seems to be a very bitter person and takes pleasure in deriding under performing players, or players he obviously, to quote Mr Lineker "does not like". The most distasteful display of Mr Hansen and Mr Shearers questionable skills? were their derisory remarks directed at the young Italian forward Mario Balotelli during the Italy v England game. I suggest you examine that coverage and ask yourself and your organisation a serious question. Is this the quality of coverage you aspire to at the BBC? I would suggest they belong at Talksport or another tabloid quality organisation. Unfortunately it's Sky or ITV for me from now on, unless you change your tired and boring team.

This may sound a little strange but has anybody though about forwarding/CC'ing their complaints into the club?

By showing your disgust to the club it may lead them to take action also. The club as a whole should be supporting the fans and the players, your views should have an effect.

The reply takes about a week and it will be a version of the standard one follow this up with another in reference to say that you are unhappy with the fist generic one and what your comments to be replied to in detail keep them busy and make sure they are aware of the depths of feeling then we can take it forward to the BBC Trust and copy it to our MPs Mine is a City fan and Im sure he will be sympathetic

For once I quite enjoyed Lawrenson's commentary during the Euros. I think he took the Terry Wogan approach on Eurorvision Song Contest night and just took the piss out of everything. Made a welcome change from all the other pundits taking themselves so seriously.
