Happy Birthday Dennis Tueart !

One of our best ever players, certainly in my 40 years of wtching City. Possibly second only to the King himself. In some ways he was Summerbee & Lee rolled into one.

Favourite DT moment is when he stuck his nut on that Hartlepool player who kicked him. None of this modern day, namby-pamby, touching heads rubbish; it was a full-on assault and the bloke had to be stretchered off and was taken to hospital with a fractured cheekbone.
Great post PB also Dennis would switch wings in games like someone posted earlier he was a proper winger, not like the tarts who dive (Ronaldo) these days.

For a while was a good as anybody who has ever played for us (except Colin obv.)

For that I say:

Happy Birthday Dennis Tueart KOAG

Best wishes to the bloke, have some great memories of Dennis, the obvious, 4 goals against Notts County the list is endless, always a fighter, had that little bit of a nasty streak to him, a bit similar to Craig Bellamy.

It's sad that a lot of the club's legends seem to not only dislike each other but it has been made very public as well. Read Colin Bell's book and his dislike now of Franny Lee is unreal yet he classes Dennis Tueart as a good friend. On the other side read Rodney Marshes book and whilst he has the highest regard for the like's of Lee, Bell & Summerbee his dislike of Dennis Tueart and IIRC Tony Book is without question - infact I remember him becoming public with it (Dennis Tueart) when he was on the Soccer Saturday panel once.

Again read Mike Doyles book and his word's on Marsh are quite scathing. Very sad state of affairs indeed. I know it happens but it's a shame it's been made so vocal.

Dennis was a fantastic player for City, and is a true blue legend. my faverouite memory of him is standing on the Kippax and watching him score 4 against (if memory serves) Notts County in the cup.
Happy birthday Dennis!

My mate got me a signed City shirt for my 40th off Dennis [my favourite city player] which takes pride of place in our house. So all the best Dennis Tueart - King of all geordies

My favourite all time city legand and had the please in meeting, speaking and having a photo with him KK and my old man. Was gutted when Frank decided to cr*p on him from a great height. Still believe he should be at the club in some sort of embassador role like tw*tface Charlton at rags does.

My memory is a bit cloudy as well, but I think it was at Meadow lane.
Seem to remember he played with a cast on his arm that night and had a 5th goal disallowed for doing a "cast of God"

Loved Tueart, still do.
Him and Hartford were my idols in the late 70's/early 80's
Both left and came back and obviously loved the club, well they certainly played like they did unlike some of our recent "stars"
Their training ground free-kick where Asa would flick it up to Dennis who would volley a shot on goal was pure class. Saw them try it twice at MR, think they scored with it against possibly Swansea.

have on a video somewhere best city goals ever i was stood on the kippax right behind it quality goal
i thought it was west brom
remember the club shop in one door out the other scarves ,badges and a few old programmes fully stocked
