Happy Clappers

So all of the (especially key) injuries we've suffered and are still suffering this season is due to poor squad planning? How does that work exactly?
Well for starters recognising that the absolute key position in the system you play is Holding Midfield, and having a back-up plan.

Arsenal play a very similar system to us, and in the hold they have Declan Rice; if hes out they also have Thomas Partey; if hes out they have Jorginho and if hes out they also have Merino as well. 4 options there.

We went into this season with a completely knackered Rodri and ........ nothing at all. He got injured and very quickly the whole thing has collapsed as our back 4 has no protection and there are frequently free runners through our central midfield, as most of the rest of them left on the pitch are on the very wrong side of 30 as well.

Remember Erling Haalands first season? This regularly saw him withdrawn at the 60 minute mark which kept him fresh /sharp for the later stages of the season - we went on to win the treble. This season we went into it with Haaland and ........nothing at all. No wonder he looks knackered and jaded as well. But he has to play every minute of every game as theres nobody else.

I could go on about the full-back area and aged central midfield too.

We have Rodri, Kovacic, Stones, Akanji, Lewis, and Gundogan who can/have all played that position.

The option plan for Haaland was play a midfielder up top like a Foden or De Bruyne as Pep stated at the time. Haaland doesn't want to be rotated and we won't rotate him. Messi and Ronaldo weren't rotated or regularly subbed either.

Not a single one of those players mentioned - Rodri apart - is a genuine no6 or holding midfielder so its a square peg in a round hole.

Haaland may not want to be rotated, but the manager makes that decision - not him. And when he does get injured you then take away a player from another area thus weakening yourself in that area. For a club thats awash with money, and an attractive destination to join due to the manager/wages we pay/chance of success the lack of basic cover in some key areas has been mind numbingly daft.

Definitely a happy clapper.

We’ve won the lot and are the most dominate football team this country has ever seen. Unprecedented. Not seen before. Will never be done again.

Other clubs have spent billions, had numerous managers and owners and they still couldn’t compete with us. By the looks of it, our cycle has ended, for now. If we beat the charges, that will be just as big as winning the league, I don’t even think that’s an exaggeration. Fresh start in the summer with Viana and hopefully with a £300m warchest. Club World Cup and the new stand to open within the next 12 months too. What a time to be a blue.

How’s that for being a happy clapper you miserable fucks.

Fabulous post and just how I feel! I know it's not great at the moment but it will get better. We are and always will be the best team in the land and all the world. It is a forum for opinions and that's great but sometimes those opinions border on malicious for me but that's my opinion. Anyway on to the weekend and stuffing the reds!!!! CTWD
I think there is a big difference between been critical on a forum and hurling abuse at players during a game. Personally I believe in the right to openly question players and management if things go wrong as currently. Equally others are fully entitled to give unwavering support to the club regardless of results on the pitch. We should all however be fully behind the team when the whistle blows. This of course leaves the Match Day Thread out of the equation but it probably best not to go there.
