I live in Ireland and I fucking hate St.Patrick's Day. Loads of absolute bellends walking the streets locked at mid morning and a day of trouble. People give out when they see homeless/poor people drinking during the day yet it's ok for those to do it on St.Patrick's Day.
It's supposed to be a day for kids to enjoy shows and a parade yet it's completely ruined bu youths and fully grown men making a twat of themselves.

Complete load of shite.

Get the kids out of town rapid after the parade.
Town gets ugly very fast.

I don't remember it being that big a deal years ago. Seems to have gone the same way as Halloween, an excuse to clog the world with throwaway plastic shite making a small fortune for some into the bargain.
I know the Irish have always celebrated it in some way or other, but the lure of the bandwagon has turned it into something it never was.... A parody. When I see people dressed like leprechauns, I genuinely feel embarrassed for real Irish folk. Most I know have spent a lifetime trying to get away from wank stereotyping.

I had an old bloke go off at me for saying happy Paddy's day once...He hated it being called that..

A poignant sombre start to the parade in Dublin.
Irish and Ukraine flags walked across O’Connell bridge with a lone trumpeter playing what I think was the Ukrainian national anthem.
