It has been a while since we have had real tough har man in the tesm ( not complaining :-) ). So I decided to try compose a historic City hard man XI. Probably missed a bunch of good candidates ”so let’s be having it”

I will go with a 5-3-2 formation. Kick, lump, tackle and run

GK: Bert’s reasons are obvious

RB Dunne a leader quiet no nonsens and tough. He did not back down to any opposition, manager or Thai owner.
CB Andy Morrison a fearsome warrior on the pitch
CB Gerry Gow Another scottish warrior. The missing teeth alone tells the story
CB Spencer Prior the guy was tough abd punched a Bobby who did not let the City fans celebrate on the pitch
LB Pscyho Pearce hard in tackle the less said about him as manager and pundit the better.

MC Danny Tiatto never one to hold back in the tackle or an argument
MC Nigel deJong a guy you wanted on your side. Alway prepared to battle
AM Michael Brown a hard tackling, sometimes a bit to energetic with notion of leaving a mark on the game.

FW Craig Bellamy stood up to anyone Shearer, Mancini, Keane etc. just give the man his golf club.
FW Carlos Tevez also enjoyed golfing and getting stuck in on the pitch.

Have to include Mike Doyle, Tony Coleman, Roy Paul. Buzzer and although he is a complete twat Barton

Nixon, Gow, Morrison, Reid,Doyle, Watson, Phelan, Barton, McCarthy, Thatcher, for starters

If we are picking people for brutality, Robert Hopkins, who committed the worse tackle I’ve seen by one of ours, including Thatcher, and the WBA player on the receiving end was on the running track beside the pitch at the time. But if it a pick for hard efficiency, Fernandinho had all the dark arts and could really play as well.
