The difference is, unlike thirty years ago, today no City supporter has any right to be angry. Not really.

Is it anger or frustration? I'm not sure. For me its frustration when you predict entirely what is going to happen before the game and lo and behold it happens. Too many times this season including the last two games. Its the tactics and performance rather than the result.

As an FOC ive seen things i never thought I would see.
Perhaps that's why my fire has gone out, something i never thought would happen.

Since winning the treble and four in a row i can't remember the last time I got excited about a game. It's like I seen us reach the very top and I'm happy with that, will die a happy man.

At the game last night, didnt enjoy the journey and was travelling from kent ! Didnt enjoy the queueing to get in. Didnt enjoy the game. Didnt enjoy trying to get away from the ground. Didnt enjoy the packed train.

I think this is more to do with me getting on in life. Just turning i to a grumpy old git without a filter lol.
I hate being searched, I hated the stop, go signs last night lol.

Sadly for me the treble and 4 in a row has slowly put my fire out. Being at the villa 3-2 was the top for me being there with my lad can't be beat.

I guess I dont like modern football, the Disney style around matchday, its not for me, I'm a ticket and beer bloke. The light show last night what the fuck was that about.

Yes I would still love to City to carry on winning but for me I'm done with going to matches. We reached the top hold so many records I'm happy with that.

The one thing I want it an exciting match dont care who wins.

Very true. The whole point of being a fan is that it allows you to vent. City fans have always been moaners. It is in our DNA. If the team plays well we moan about the food, the transport, the ticket prices, the new stands. When I first followed City in the late 60s/70s there was an old man near us (of course called Stan). He never shut up about Doherty being better than Bell. And apparently the atmosphere was shit at Maine Road compared to Hyde Road!
 
On here tbf you notice it is normally the same ones and they are consistant over the football related forums (thankfully hardly seen in off topic)

Here its the players aren't good enough
On the transfer forum it's only the players they deem good enough are worth talki g about any othet suggestion is a shit player.
On the matchday thread we are shit unless 3 up and any player they dismissed in the transfer forum but we bought is shit andnever will be given the benefit of the doubt.

One you notice and recognise their patterns it is easy to zone out their commemts in a thread.

True, plus disregard pretty much everyone’s comments, including mine, in the 6 hours that follow any game we haven’t won.

Opinions are like arseholes everyone has got one.

The surprising thing for me is that I’ve seen multiple times people call for Pep’s head only for City to win trophy after trophy. Do those people ever reflect on their past comments? No because this is the time they are finally right and “I told you so” Some just always need someone to blame and social media exacerbates it all.

You can’t win because the same guys will be back when we have a new manager and we are 6th in the league and out of all the cups.

Be careful what you wish for.

Ha ha. Some people just love it. Sometimes I love a good moan myself. We will never be like one of the cult clubs. I don’t like personal abuse of players though. That should be off limits. Some people are just frustrated at life. Easy to understand with the world at the moment. But it’s just howling at the moon.

It's a forum for expressing opinions, some of which you'll like and some of which you won't. Some can be bizarre I'll agree but people can express them and will have to live with the consequences. God knows I've been in that position a few times. If someone is being a bitch then you're also entitled to tell them that.

I just can't get my head around the mindset of what is an increasingly large section of the membership on here. Yes; freedom of speech. I get it, 100%. Everyone can say what they want, obviously subject to the rules on here. But with that freedom of speech surely comes the obligation not to come across as a dick. The match and post match threads are toxic, and I wouldn't lose any sleep if they were scrapped. But I've been told that's not an option. I've said many times on here that constructive criticism is no bad thing. It's actually necessary. And there has been plenty to criticise this season. But there's an awful lot of stuff posted that can in no way be construed as "constructive" . Posts saying that x, y or z should "fuck off", or that a, b or c is "shit and should be sold" serve no useful purpose whatsoever, and add nothing to any discussion. It's just abuse, plain and simple. Ah well; as the Germans would say; c'est la vie".
