I would have felt violated, offended, degraded, quite possibly disrespected and definately offended if I was in your shoes. A strongly worded letter to the editor of the Dunfries and Galloway Standard would have sorted the matter out.

In all seriousness if it happened it happened, just roll with it. There's always pissed up people out & about and no harm was done.

I'd probably adjust it slightly towards my favour and use it in conversation as a funny story when out and about.
