Harry Dowd/Ken Mulhearn

Was there when Kenny made his debut against united at Maine rd 67 my best recollection of that game was stan bowls and Brian Kidd fighting on the touch line at the kippax side, it was kicking off everywhere no segregation at all, we lost 2 nil Colin scored then bobby wrapover got 2 all in the first half, that was one of the only two games we lost in the league that season, also the two games we lost were both kicked off towards the platt lane in the first half, west brom was the other one, it was considered unlucky to kick off that way very similar at the Etihad that we always like kick off towards the south stand? Although I liked Kenny the following season he devalued his game and the title was lost after we got beat by Sheffield Wednesday own goal by big George Heslop, Kenny and George were replaced by Harry and tommy booth for the cup run? Probably on form you could not choose between them but mal thought Kenny was bigger in hight and build but Harry was such a character and probably a lot braver I remember him getting his nose splattered all over his face at Maine rd In a rain soaked game that should never have been played? Alan ogley was always on the periphery but don't think he ever let us down not sure if he went the other way to Stockport for Kenny???

Sorry to hear that Harry Dowd is not enjoying the best of health, Another case of fond memories resulting in a tear or two. Saw Yashin play at the swamp in 66 world cup. The song was right " Harry is better than Yashin" Thanks Harry and all the best.

Didn't Yashin play at Maine Rd in friendly against Moscow Dynamo.
1 - 1 draw if my memory is correct.
