Harry Kane

If Levy doesn't want to accept £127m for a 28 year old striker who wants to leave then I honestly don't know what to say.....

Because that's obviously not the figure he is willing willing to accept. Kane will have a value and he will be expected to sell for that by the shareholders of Spurs. You can't blame him for wanting to max out the deal, we'd do exactly the same.

I don't know why you would sign a new deal if you want to leave a club.

Makes no sense to me.
Likely been told its now or never for him to join City, Chelsea have moved on to Lukaku, rags will be after Haaland or spunk 100m on Ings or something. May as well ride out your career at spuds earning more money.

Confused why the figure would be a round €150m. Neither Mansour or Lewis/Levy are based in Europe are they?

They could offer Kane a pay rise not necessarily an extension.

Why would you not sign it if you had to stay another year?

Anyway, 130m for a 28 year old, no matter how good (remember how good hazard was for chelsea before he left), is a huge vote of confidence, and I very much look forward to kane fulfilling the promise, he's more than capable.

No, please explain how time works.

What is it?
Is it a measurement created by us humans?
Has it always existed?
when did it start?
what was there before time?
When will time cease to exist?

I think we may need a thread on this subject!
I guess the time has come...
It is V, very tasty
It is I, irresistible
It is M, Mancunian
It is T, therapeutic
it is O, oh oh oh
Used to drink it a lot, until someone pointed out that it was an anagram of vomit...

I wonder if that figure includes add-ons. I have a feeling that £128m plus bonuses for things like the golden boot or winning the league is exactly the kind of agreement that will be reached after Kane reiterates his desire to leave next week. Spurs do have the upper hand in this negotiation, so I'd be surprised if Levy doesn't get a value of at least £140m out of it - the thought of which he will no doubt spend the rest of the year using as a substitute for Viagra while his club battles through the heady heights of the Europa Conference League.

If Kane accepts a new contract, it'll be because City have withdrawn from any higher fee. No chance of him having his head turned by a no-hope release clause and some higher wages at this point, for me. Down to City to bite the bullet and pay up, which this suggests they're doing. All good. Kane in sky-blue before the end of next week is my bet.

I think it's pretty obvious that the club isn't happy to spend it.
We've walked away from many deals before because of finances, if the club is prepared to pay such a fee then it's not "too much"

The club won't ever put itself in a compromised position financially.

"How much do you want for Kane?"

"£150m"

"Done!"

....

"How much do you want for 'x'?

"£100m"

"No, how about £60m?"

"No, you paid for Kane right away sure..."

Simplified obviously but you get the guts of not showing your hand immediately.

Sooo:

Potentially: £127m
Euros: 150m
Romano: Maybe possibility probably £150m euros
On the bbc: £150m
In the Sun: £300m
Sam Lee: Approx £140m I heard a rumour on bluemoon
Sky sports: It works out as 635,000 times passing go while playing Monopoly and 9bn Indian rupees so therefore £200m and City haven’t sold any players and are ruining football

To contractually put something in place that allows him to leave, thus avoiding gentlemans agreements that have left him in the shit he's in now.
Imagine the size of the negotiated buy- out clause. I imagine It will be over £100m and by the time anyone can trigger it he will be about seven months short of his 29th birthday. It is a law of diminishing returns for Spurs. Realistically will they even get into the top four with the current squad plus a couple of Levy style cheapo signings to appease his new manager and Kane?

Likely been told its now or never for him to join City, Chelsea have moved on to Lukaku, rags will be after Haaland or spunk 100m on Ings or something. May as well ride out your career at spuds earning more money.
Well he better make it happen then :)

If we don't sign Kane it might work out better anyway, could end up with Haaland next summer.

Only way we win out of this transfer is if Kane signs this summer and Haaland goes to Bayern. If we paid through the nose Kane and Haaland went to United next summer I think I'd vomit.
