Harry Kane

Na it’s just been reported throughout the job search the managers were assured he wouldn’t be sold. Hence why Nuno was so confident in his presser when asked about Kane.
I’ve never said kane doesn’t want to join city, unfortunately for him he signed a 6 year contract in 2018 and levy is not selling him with 3 years left on his contract. Wonder at what point in the summer you all stop deluding yourselves about this happening
I hope you’re right

Yes to break our transfer record twice in an off season with this kind of fees is un-City like. Particularly with Covid playing a factor to our finances. Just says a big fuck off to all the people who oppose City. Tebas, FFP, Bayern, Klopp, de Laurentis and many more will all be so salty it will be brilliant.
We've raised £50m through sales so far this window so I doubt we'll break any total spending records but in terms of individual deals I hope we break 2 records

The thing that stands out for me the most about the prices being quoted for Kane and Grealish (whether you agree with them or not) is the fact that City are anywhere near these kind of deals… it’s not something that we’ve ever done before and I see it as a sign that something has shifted financially.

And hopefully a sign that City are now starting to feel confident of flexing their financial muscles… happy days!

I think ffp has been relaxed this summer due to covid so clubs can spend more.

Unfortunately I think united might this year

you wont like it (probably) but i dont rate Grealish as high as some either ;-)
I don't either and fwiw if it were up to me, i'd have a couple, Mbappe and Haaland, before Kane, but it ain't.

I can see why we want Grealish though.
We need someone who can unlock and thread little balls in behind defences like David used to. Now no-one can replace Merlin, but after taking a closer look at Grealish, seeing that it's got serious, he does have some good close control and can make some nice passes, so i'm warming to him and think we need that type of player.

I heard Nuno's press conference. He was totally non commital. Not sure how you deduced from that he was confident that Kane was staying

Yeah, I saw the reports of those assurances.

Let's just say, I know an half-truth when I see one. And boy oh boy, that whole period was full of some sketchy shit.

To paraphrase, they were assured, 'As things stand Tottenham will not be selling Harold Kane this summer'. How many holes can you pick in that? Well, obviously it's different if a bid actually arrives. It didn't even say who made the assurance. Could have been the bloody tea lady. It stank of a bit of Tottenham politicking between Levy, Nuno and Patrici, who would take the 'blame' for selling Kane. It was always coming back to Levy, hence the farcical manager search. This week, he got his act in gear, and found the positive spin that reinforces his authority. Story is now that by seeling, he is doing what he thinks is best for the club, the team, getting rid of a malcontent, getting some players in, overruling Joe Lewis' emotional side.

Honestly, if this is a delusion, it's the most realistic one I've ever fallen for.

I knew this deal was going down ages back. Everything added up, all the little details in who was saying what, and the back story of why the players would want it to go ahead. Stuck my name to the mast six weeks ago or more, and I've never felt more confident. As it happens, I had Nuno down for you from him leaving Wolves, and became utterly convinced during the manager search. Sure, it could go wrong. I just don't know how. Not at this stage. Medical fail. That's about it.
