We've been led to believe by Sam Lee that a move for Kane was on the cards last summer before Messi came along.

Ok it may not be true, but if it is it suggests that we'd been talking to him for months before even then, although maybe more speculatively with his agent than anything.

If Sam's info is valid, then I wouldn't be surprised if Kane's request for a faith clause was with City specifically in mind.

I’m sure @tolmie's hairdoo has been saying we have wanted him for at a year or even two now, same with Grealish sure he suggested he was a target early last season. I was sceptical of both being targets at first, I was still sceptical back in May /June. I was as usual wrong again.

If I’d of said city would pay 150 mill for a player, no fucker would of guessed Kane.
