Harry Kane

If Inter are prepared to let Martinez go for £60m should we not be getting a bit of that instead of splashing at least double on Kane?
After all, we’ve not done badly with short spiky Argentinian strikers in the past have we.
City have a long term transfer strategy that is planned at least 12 months in advance. They don’t change because another team has put a bid in for a player that sounds good value. Just like they don’t buy players who don’t fit the mould of a city player. If Martinez is available for 60m it’s probably because he isn’t very effective and for a start he’s a number 10 not an out and out number 9. It will be Kane or nothing. You don’t dominate and win the amount of trophies City have in the way we have won by having a slap dash approach to buying players and changing your mind on players week to week

One year ago Martinez was wanted by a number of clubs including Barca PSG and City also made enquiries. Inter were not interested in selling at £100m.
His form has dipped as Lukaku’s has gone through the roof and Inter appear to be willing to let him go for a lot less as they are strapped for cash.
My original post was asking the question should we not be looking at this given the inordinate amount of money Levy is wanting to fleece us for.
If Kane’s transfer is not negotiable and we have the prospect of a season without a striker other than Jesus then looking at the likes of Lautaro who would suit how we play is not unreasonable.
I’m not suggesting a scattergun approach to transfers but I would have thought our management do have a back up plan to Harry Kane or bust.

Anyone else find it interesting that there are all these stories of Jesus wanting to leave due to a lack of playing time just as Aguero has left, if anything this would be the season for him to make the spot his own.

Unless he knows a deal is agreed to bring in Kane.
